275/65R20 Same width as factory tires and a little over 34" in diameter. Perfect size tire for our trucks if you ask me.

Hi Forum, looking for some advice. Have spent the last 4 hours reading this thread :) 2010 CM Platinum 4x4 with 140 lb ranch-hand hanging off the front since day 1, on the platinum 20" wheels 275/55/20 stock.
Springs and shocks are tired after almost a decade. Currently measuring 2.375" of rake (from center of hub to top of fender 21.5" front, 23.875" rear) and will just bounce for days when I go over a bump- time for replacements. I didn't measure the rake originally but will upload a picture from 9 years ago- you can see the pronounced rake even back then and I think the front sunk from there.

    • I've decided on Bilstein 6112's set at 1.9" setting for the front, at 5110 for the rear. That should still give me a ~0.475" rake which is good- I tow on some occasions and I don't want the bro-lean if I can avoid it.
    • I'm going to keep stock Platinum rims. Don't want to cut/bend any metal. Can remove mudflaps.
    • Per the sticky at the front of this thread, 285/60/20 should work with this lift, but it seems like some folks have had to cut to make these fit.
    • If I can't go with the 285/60/20, I'll go with the 275/60/20's that the sticky says should fit with no lift.

The info in this thread has been outstanding- I've been able to decide on my shock/spring package and narrowed down tires to 2 sizes, but now I just want to make sure I don't make a $1200 mistake on the tires- I see forum members using the 285/60/20 tire, but they are using different rims or offset spacers or using a different lift method than the 6112's. Just need a few votes of confidence that it'll work with just the 6112's and no cutting before taking the plunge.

I doubt a 16” wheel will fit over the 2nd and 3rd gen’s big brake calipers.

Thats what i figured. Just weird the offer that size and bolt pattern. Only the 1st gen came 16 inch wheels. I left them a comment on instagram to see what they say about it.

I went with Nitto Ridge Grappler 35x11.5r20’s (34.76x11.42) to try to avoid the cmc.

    2018 sr5 off-road
    3/1 readylift sst kit
    35x11.5r20 ridge grapplers
    Fuel sledge 20x9 +20 offset

Removed both mud flaps on the front and cut plastic behind bumper. (Did plastic need to be cut? No idea. I wasn’t there. The shop decided to cut maybe they could have masssaged ?)
Haven’t felt any rub during driving but was able to get it within millimeters of cab mount when the right side tires are in the gutter. So I imagine if I’m in the right off camber turn with the wheel turned just perfect I’ll probably hit the cab mount, or off road with wheel turned just right. Tested forward and reverse on flat ground with no rub. They also could have aligned the truck with more positive castor and my understand is every degree of positive castor will give me a centimeter or so of clearance from cab mount? I’m going to bring it back in and have them do another alignment and see if that gives me more clearance. If not gonna cmc for peace of mind.

Plenty of clearance from uca’s and everything else. If I end up getting the cmc I’m gonna be pissed I didn’t go with 35x12.5’s instead.

Can someone explain why you would want to buy black wheels? the black wheel wagon came along mid 2000 and I stood way back when everyone else got on. I just cannot grasp the concept of buying wheels that hide all the features of the wheels. They remind me of riding on Steelee, donuts. Just my opinion of course. Darkest I will go is a glossed gun metal but prefer polished or bright silver. It's like buying $150+ sneakers in all black. What's the point?

I'll take this. For me, I wanted the lightest wheels on the market so I bought these. Although I didnt necessarily want black, I could deal with it, where the fake beadlocks were a dealbreaker for me. They only came in 2 colors, the matte black go better with my mgm/black theme on truck. I dont personally care what others think of my wheel tire combo, I think it's sick and makes me all tingly inside. Nuff said, drop the mic lol

they are the fastest color wheel everyone knows this

Black is out of style. You’re totally right. Rainbow hair is popular among the kids these days from what I gather from mumble rappers. Have you considered rainbow wheels for your ride? I have a feeling that would fit you

I can see this working for dark colored theme like yours. The tires definitely makes it look more satisfyings and yes, I agree your truck looks tits. Great job.

If you drive down the road anywhere... 90-95% of the vehicles I see are chrome or some type of brushed aluminum. I have always had a stock wheel. When I saw the White TRD PRO... I really liked that "stormtrooper" type of look. I totally understand what you are saying... but I look at it like ... to each his own... If I didn't see that white TRD PRO then I would most likely would have gone stock.

Yes, I agree. Perhaps it had to do with the design of the wheels. Love the accented red center cap.

I mean I get what you're saying, how everyone has black wheels now adays. Trust me, I wrested with the idea of trying to go different than black. But your comment is a bit offending toward anyone with black wheels. Different strokes for different folks, plus if u didn't buy them then wtf would u care? Trust me I'm not offended I really don't care and will sleep fine tonight, but for a relatively new member with only 40 posts, u might want to try and make a few friends before u go bashing peoples wheel choice. Hey I'm just trying to help u out here. Like I said, u don't have to worry about me hating ya, I'm already over it. Besides, I'd put this wheel/tire combo up against any other sight unseen and I'm confident in my choice. I'm just saying u might offend some others who don't have as thick as skin as mine. I honestly don't care and it won't bother, but u might go ruffling the feathers of others and I don't want ya to get hated so early into your time here, or anywhere else for that matter. If u dont like just scroll on. But since u mentioned how much u like them I figured I'd give ya a nice closeup to blow up and hang on your wall, here u go, hope you enjoy lol

I’m rubbing a little when making a hard turn on a dip with the 11.5s. No big deal really as long as I can avoid the chop. You might also find that mpgs will be better with 11.5 wide tires than 12.5. I was shocked to find out I am getting 14.4 mpg. Another plus is the amount of splash on the truck. They don’t stick out much. I previously had 12” wide tires and they splashed too much.

Perhaps you were reading between the lines. My post was not directed to anyone specific. Just wanted an explanation of what's the deal with all black wheels and I explained why I felt that way towards black wheels. If anyone is secured about themselves, my question should not offend them.

I even gave praised to your vehicle. Are we not Tundra Brothers anymore?!?!

I need to do some more driving to find out what’s going on with my mpg’s. It says 9.5 mpg tank average right now. Can’t be accurate. I was only averaging 12-14 before the wheels though. Heavy footed.

I am secure in my choice, myself, and my truck that' why I found no offense and took the time to respond. I'm just trying to help ya out, that others might find it a bit offensive. Kinda like a who the hell are u to tell me or question me on a black wheel choice, u ain't buying it, might be the things that went thru peoples mind. Maybe I read it wrong than how u meant it. But I could see how maybe anyone with a black wheel may not like it. I understood what u were getting at. Me, I'm fine. I appreciate your kind words on my truck. I will still consider you my tundra brother lol. I was just trying to help a brother out. No hard feelings here.

Heres another one for ya lol.

    I'm

I appreciate the alternate angle at my question. You securely answered it correct the first time without being offensive and I appreciate you look out for a brother, from another trucker.

There's not many trucks with black wheels I like, but your truck is a fine exception in my book. I'm not just saying this to be nice either because I will say it how it is. I don't think one could have done it better with the dark theme, MGM (my color as well btw). I only see two other modifications that will take it to perfection; 19 pro headlights and have the tail lights lightly smoked with 2k. Again, great job.

I think you're on to something here. Black in general is very hard to keep clean. I think when they're all cleaned up, it's a different story. Most black wheels here in Florida gets dirty real quick as we have sunny afternoon showers almost everyday from June to November. Thanks for that and great looking wheels. Love the style. Would love to suggest getting some big aggressive MT but it's not my pocket book that has to pay for it.

    PS
Nevermind, you do have some aggressive tires. I was thinking more of a meatier tire but you need 17 or 18" rims to pull it off.

    Hello everyone!

Well, I went and put on new rubber this past weekend. I put on Nitto Trail Grapplers in 275/70R18 which is a little taller but same width as factory Michelins. They look bad a#@ and ride pretty smooth but they are LOUD as heck. I struggled between the Ridge Grapplers and these Trail ones. No regrets, they look awesome just loud. I have had no experience with these before but did run BFG KM3s on my Jeep before. Just a word to the wise, if someone tells you these are no louder than an All Terrain tire, they must be deaf.
