Ironically I just posted in another thread about the prices of rims, I know it has been years since i looked but some of these prices (to me) are outrageous.
These seem Tobe as close as I a going to get to original Cragar SS rims (like on my 60 GTO when I was 17 :):) )
https://www.carid.com/foose-wheels/f202-nitrous-2pc-welded-custom-finish-91194683.html and these are some of the cheaper ones @3K....

I really hope i have enough disposable income one day to afford a $6300 set of rims.

One of my favorite Tundras on here! If only I needed 37’s, cause that’s the perfect look for one of our trucks.

    Hello,
    great information here!

For reference I have a 2016 Crewmax SR5 with TRD package.

I did as much research as I could stand and pulled the trigger on:

    Bilstein 6112's for the front.
Bilstein 5160's in the rear, with mounting brackets.
    Falken Wild Peak AT3's 275/70/r18's.

Tires are about an inch taller than the 275/65/18 Michelins and half inch wider...

Anyone seen any issues with this setup? Looking for a size up with leveling and no more lift.

Will I need to do any trimming?

The twist is I have all this stuff coming, and need to use the truck next weekend, likely before the leveling kit is installed. Blew a tire and would like to replace them before I leave...
The shocks will likely arrive before the tires, so it may be possible to have it installed, but it may be tight, so...

wondering if there will be an issue with installing the 33 inch tires before the leveling kit...

    any suggestions?

They should fit just fine. If anything you may need to either remove or modify the little front mudflap thingy, but I doubt it. I think that’s what size tire we ran on rim with more offset before our first lift and it cleared fine.

Great! That's good news. That got rid of my angst, and now I am back to exuberant anticipation! Tires coming three days early on Monday and the rear shocks on Wednesday.
Think I have Tundra Fever because I spent a wad this morning and still grinning like a teenager with his first car! It doesn't hurt to be ready for winter trips to Northern Aroostook county either.

So - how was your SDHQ experience? I'm a millimeter away from pulling the trigger on a big build to be done by TAV (Tactical Application Vehicles) out of Albuquerque. Also talked to SDHQ, but kind of liked TAV's builds a little better and they only use King systems for their suspension stages. Your Tundra is so tight.

Man that looks damn good. But you didn’t put any wheel or tire specs lol. What’s the size and offset of the wheels? Awesome stance

I can't speak for Joe, but we've had a fair amount of suspension work done by SDHQ and they did our glass fender install. I also have probably 15-20 friends with builds or work done by SDHQ. We've been really happy with their work, and especially their customer experience. I like the builds that come out of TAV also (planning to stop by their place in ABQ soon to visit), so it probably comes down more to the style of build you're looking for. For straight up off road performance and durability with a side of overland, I'd go with SDHQ. For more of the overland-y gadget and niche type stuff with a side of performance, I'd probably go with TAV. Whatever you do, start a build thread if haven't already! :D

Thanks for that. It's reassuring knowing that some are at least aware of TAV's existence and what they're about. Due to the nature of what I actually do with the truck and what I'd LIKE to do with it, TAV seems like the right choice. A build thread would consist of, here's the truck going bye-bye and here it is a month and a half later, but I'll look into starting one. I guess I could post the build sheet to show what's going to go into the truck and tell a little story.

Thanks dude. I had a good experience with SDHQ, no complaints. I drove by a bunch of offroad shops to leave my truck with them, just go with whoever builds vehicles your style.
