Hey guys. First post here but been reading this thread and all other mid travel/tire threads I can find. Haven't been able to get a straight answer. And when I do, its hard to understand exactly what suspension mods, trim mods, etc that have been done to the truck I see with what I want.

    Anyways.....

Bought a 2016 Crewmax 4x4 a few weeks back and the mod bug has already begun. I will be doing a solid mid travel setup with UCA and the goodies.

The wheels I want are 17x8.5 method con6s with tires obviously. I dont need 35s but want a solid tire to wheel ration. Ive read 295/70/17 or even maybe 305/65/17? Something like that. I dont want 18s as I really like the look of a smaller wheel and beefier tire.

The rims are 0 offset and this is what they come in. no more, no less.

Is this kosher? If I do rub, where will it be? What can be done? The truck is my daily, but my goal is to be able to beat on it whenever I want. Dont want issues down the road. Tires Im into are the BFG AT K02s.

    Appreciate all the help guys!

    Cheers,
    Zach

You’ll need 1.25” wheel spacers. Bora makes some that’re very popular.

I am looking at running these Methods: https://www.boss4x4s.com/mr306_mesh with a 295/70r18 tire. I don't want it to poke out or run flares. I believe it shouldnt rub too bad. Anyone running this? Will they fit in the wheel well? Its for a 2018 Limited TRD Cremax

Something’s off about the description. I’d assume it’s an 18x9 wheel? It says it’s 5.75” backspacing, which would be right for an 18x9 wheel with a +18 offset, not a -13 offset. Plus it says the bore size is 116mm, when you need 110mm bore. I’d check Method’s site to be sure you’re looking at the right wheel. And a 18x9 wheel with a +18 offset will poke outside the fender by maybe an inch if I remember correctly, so if you want minimal tire showing outside the fender I’d say look more for wheels with a +25 or +30 offset.

I have 16 tundra off-road with 3 inch level. Looking at getting 18x9 moto wheels with 305/70/18 cooper pro tires. Would like the wheels to stick out like an inch or so. Any idea on offset. Don't want to trim more than plastic or meland bend plastic.

Running 2" of lift with 18x9 +18 Mickey Thompson Deegan 38 Pro 2 wheels and 275/70R18 BFG KO2s. No rubbing at all with this set-up. Tires have been great so far. I have about 35,000 miles on these tires with about 9/32 tread left on them. Will be replacing the tires with either 285/70s or 295/70s before winter.

Been a member for 3 yrs and this is my 1st post. Talk about delayed reaction. Lol
I've got Bilstein 5100's at highest setting on the front with 2" blocks in the rear. Need to replace my General Grabbers and thinking I want to change it up a bit. Gonna get some 18x9's with something in the +18 to 25 range. Since I have the 4.6 I really don't want to go much taller then the 275/70's I have now, but I think a little wider tire would look good. I'd like to keeper tread inside the fender (no money for flares right now). I love my grabbers and we get lots of snow here in ME so anybody have any good tire suggestions that will clear with what I have/want? I like the looks of the STR Pros and the Maxx series but open to suggestions?

    Thanks

Only suggestion I can really contribute is, get rid of the blocks in the rear and put on some shackles at minimum. Just my opinion. There's a ton of nice treads in the size you are looking for. All about personal preference I suppose.

Why get rid of the blocks RMT? Haven't had any problems in the 3 yrs I've had them on. I'm aware they could cause some axle wrap, but hasn' been a problem yet. Not being snooty just trying to learn.

Not being snooty either, I just don't really like blocks. Again, just my opinion.

    Hey Rocky,

Did you have to trim any for 35s? Your setup reads like what I'm looking to get.

    Thank you

Just removed all 4 mud flaps up front and had to unfasten the front fender liner where it mounts to the bumper and move it forward about a half inch. Haven't reinstalled the skid yet, so not sure on that. I think it slightly rubs the sway bar at full lock but haven't verified that yet.

Just put on a set of Continental crosscontact LX20s. Found that this 275 / 60 R20 fit with no trimming on OEM 20s. They are supposed to improve gas mileage along with being a M/S highway tire. I'll tell you this I forgot how much smoother a Highway tire road compared to KOs.
