Official Tundra Wheel and Tire Setups - Pics and Info

Alright boys. It's finally time to get some aggressive tires and sexy wheels for my truck.

I've narrowed it down to Toyo Open Country MTs 285 / 75 / R16 for the tires. And I want

$139 Pro Comp 69 Series Vintage Wheel, 16x8 with 6 on 5.5 Bolt Pattern - Flat Black - 7069-6883

Pro Comp Series 7069 @ 16x8 / 6 on 5.5 bolt pattern -12mm offset for the wheels.

I've done the math and i'm 99% sure that the tires and wheels will fit with my 2 inch lift in the front.

But i'm posting here to ask this:

Is there something I'm overlooking?

ok after 32 pages i think im more lost now then ever. forgive me. So here goes: 2013 crew base with 3and1 level. I have 275/70/18 falkens that need to be replaced and didn't really like them. Cant change rims right now so 18/9 cheapies from discount.
I want a wider look with same hight(at least close). I will be adding fender flares so I want them to stick out slightly past flares.

What I need help with
getting right size i can get that gets me a more aggressive look and is wider then my 33.2 x 10.8 tires. I want to switch to a M/T look but not hard core.
Please help so i dont buy the wrong tires. I would like to avoid spacers if possible and keep the rims

 

I hate to break this to you, but unfortunately your width, or "aggressive look" comes from your wheel offset more-so than your tire size.

Also for the pages' reference as well as yours, below is my truck with Bilstein 5100's top setting front, stock rear. Cooper ST Maxx 275/70-18 on Method "The Standard" 18x9 +18 offset.

If you're going to add fender flares and want them to stick out slightly past the flares with 275/70's, you're likely going to need a fairly negative offset, which will induce more rubbing against your bumper/fender when turning.

 

I like your look. I don't need to keep that tire size. I was more so asking what size do I need to buy to get the look I want on a .2wd? Or are you saying the rimsi have will never work no matter what size I get

 

If you're looking for the tires sticking out past the side of the truck, that is more dependent on wheel offset/backspacing. You can use your current wheels if you want, but then you would need to use spacers in order to get your tires to stick out.

 

Sorry I'm not up on this. So your saying even if I bought say a 295/65/18 because of the rims I have they won't stick out any further

 

They will indeed stick out a little farther, but I doubt it's as much as you're thinking. I'm not 100% on how the tire size effects it, I'm guessing if you went from an 11" wide tire, to a 13" wide tire, your tire would stick out an additional inch on the outside if you were lucky, but unfortunately I'm not positive it works like that. Somebody else will have to weigh in on that.

 

You should be gtg. That's the same wheel I have ( mine are gloss black) and the same size tire......

BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 285 / 75 R16 instead. These are still super aggressive looking but should definitely last longer and are also cheaper.

Can't wait to put em on.

 

Hey again man. Was there an issue with the wheels being lug centric rather than hub centric when you went to put em on your truck?

Edit: Hub centric rings are the solution.

They probably stick out about 3-4 inches. Gives it a mean stance.

Yes I am. Asking $1800. Not really sure about how to ship them out to somewhere. That would be my only problem.

 

I've used Fastenal before. Pretty reasonable, you just have to put them on a pallet.

 

The first number is the width of the tire in mm. Going from 275 to 295 will give you a 20mm wider tire but only half of that goes to the outside of the wheel. So your tire will stick out 10mm more. Less than half an inch. Won’t be enough for flares. You’ll either need new wheels with a lower offset or spacers.

Well I got the new tires and wheels on. Looks amazing IMO. Not too big, not too aggressive, wheels aren't 'brodozer'y.

What do you guy suggest for PSI? The guys at the shop set them at 35, but I think I might do something like 40, 42, or 44?

Anybody running a Fuel Maverick 20x9 with a toyo Rough Country RT 33x12.5 +20 offset or close to that on a 3rd Gen? That’s what I’m looking to buy but not 100% sure on the offset. I have a 2016 limited n it’s currently stock height but I did order some Bilstein, 6112 for the front and 5160 for the rear! Thanx for any help you guys can give!

 

Just have a noob wheel question....at the beginning of this thread the center bore on a gen 3 is 110.5mm......looking at fuels website the center bore on most wheels is 110.3.....how are they fitting correctly? Getting ready to buy rims online and just want to make sure I get the right ones.....
