Official Smoked Mesquite Thread

We have threads for every other color but no love for smoked mesquite. I know there is a Sunset Bronze Mica but that’s quite a bit different. I’ll kick it off with a few shots of mine she needs cleaned but I love the way it looks in the sun..

Mostly stock just did chrome delete, soft topper, painted tow hooks and bilstein 5100 up front on lowest setting currently. When the stock Bridgestones wear out I’ll level with the bilsteins and put on some wildpeak at3

 

This must be the most unpopular color then? I love mine anyways so here it is today in the rain.

 

I actually shopped for this specific color with this specific package and trim, so I love it. Took many months to find it at what I was willing to pay. This was a quick photo for another thread for what style of steps we have, so it is a little dirty in this photo because I was focused on the steps. I'll post another when I clean it up. It's a 2020 1794 and I've added: RCI skid plate, w-drop steps, driver's grab handle, WeatherTech deflectors and a Diamondback bed cover. I have a TRD rear sway bar on order.

 

Very nice. I also shopped for this color in a limited and I was super lucky since my local dealer literally took this in on trade and I got it CPO. I instantly bought BBS wheels and some random stuff like ss3's sport fogs, AJT black out interior, some huskys and the tundra inserts for then also from a forum member here in of course brown. I had a 2006 350z in interlagos fire so I was in love with this color as soon as I seen a tundra. The Z was more purple but popped brown/orange in the sun.

 

Sunset bronze twins. Previously the most unpopular color, until your color was created.

 

Ehhhh imho I think the sunset bronze, smoked mesquite are the nicest colors on the tundras when the sun hits them. My 15' blue ribbon metallic was a sharp color but doesn't hold a candle to these 2 color options. Nothing against the whites or various grey/silver platinum and limited packages in my area but makes such a sharp truck look so bland.

 

I think it looks great. Had to special order mine. Dealers in Maine have almost no on hand stock. I'd been looking since last year and ended up just ordering what I wanted.
ejes I'm very curious about the driver side grab handle. What did you get and where did you get one?

 

Sparks toyota has them as well as a couple other vendors. Few guys get lucky at the local scrap yards.

 

I got it from sparksparts.com. I can't remember what year Toyota did it, but they deleted the driver's side grab handle on the Tundra, so you have to buy one and install it yourself if you want it now. I think they did it because they felt it obstructed the driver's view somehow.

I actually had the sunset bronze mica before this one. Love how the color transitions.

 

Here's mine. Sold my 08 Tundra double cab and bought this. I wanted black or smoked mesquite and I couldn't find a black 1794 anywhere in August 2020. Very few mods so far. Bed cover, floor mats, tinted windows, nfab bars, amp'd bedstep, and some led strip lights tied into the factory led bed lights. Toyota dealer had Goodyear Duratrac take-offs new for $500 mounted and balanced. Deer season was approaching so I had those put on too. Hard to beat that. Traded the factory tires for a uws under bed cover toolbox.

 

Just purchased last weekend. Awesome color. Going to be leveling and wheels and tires next.

 

Here’s mine. 2019 limited. Leer 100XL, led interior lights, weathertech mats, black badging, magnaflow exhaust dumped under the bed and with the tan interior. Dropping it off next week to get 3/1 level and falken wilpeak AT3s put on.

 

What size level or lift do you have

 

I love this color on Tundras! Unfortunately, was also my wife's least favorite lol, so we had to compromise. Apparently, whatever color I chose for my truck had to match the outside of our house haha

I love the different shades you get depending on lighting, and I just miss having a dark car in general haha

Unfortunately I don't have a recent picture, but mostly looks the same. Have since added a uws low profile matte black tool box. Getting rid of the chrome slowly but surely.

 

Just a 2 inch level in the front. Nothing crazy

 

I'd love to get some front bumper caps and grill.....but this color for some reason it's a 2k endeavor.

 

Looks bigger than that. I go next week to get the 3/1 level

 

Ordered all of the parts I need to cover up or replace all of the exterior chrome on my 1794 plus some extras. Hopefully everything comes in this week and off to be painted. TRD pro headlights, black LED fog lights, klearz light smoked 3rd brake light cover, Recon Taillights, faux TRD pro grill insert from MC Autoparts, matte black exhaust tip and running boards.
Door handles, mirror caps, ecoological front grill surround and bumper end caps, center bumper valence, and a TRD hood scoop are going to get paint matched.
Considering replacing the door sill scuff stick-ons, I am sure I will find things here and there to change out as well.

 

Thanks for starting the thread to get some love for SM! Couldn't choose a favorite to post (some are pre vs post color matched handles and mirror caps). Mods in sig, aftermarket bumper in process.

 

The front of mine. I have a color matched Victory front bumper just haven't made the time to put it on.

 

How much did the color matched grill and hood bulge set you back?

 

I don't know, I bought bulge painted from Roman and the surround. I paid 200 to have the surround and mirror caps painted.
