Just a couple pics of the new truck. And it behind my 2014 Crewmax. Can you guess my favorite color?

Yesterday I ordered some husky liners, wet okole seat covers, and the eag grille with the raptor lights built in. I’m calling about bumpers and sliders today with different venders.

Btw I called the local Toyota shop about doing a full tune up, all fluids changed/flushed, serpentine belt replaced, spark plugs, whole 9 yards.

    They quoted me $1500!

Congrats on getting your unicorn! I'll delete the pics I have from the dealership of your truck:) I downloaded the vid and add for it when I was searching for a RCSB. Why not do the work yourself and save the coin?

On Friday, I took off that ugly bull bar, dropped the skids and sprayed the whole underside with Salt-Away. Today I’ll be changing fluids in both diffs and T-case.

I been hearing some squealing when braking and when I went to remove the tires yesterday, I noticed the the passenger rear caliper had been replaced, but no others had. So I might just do a full brake job all around if I don’t have anything better to do today.

Anybody here Canadian and bought a truck in the USA to import? I was looking at adds for RCSB's in the states last week, starting seriously looking into what importing would involve and they wont allow you to import a truck thats been modified from factory condition until its been returned to factory condition (presumably in the parking lot at customs?). So a 2 inch lift apparently becomes an extra total f-around. Stopped looking in the states because of this, I mean any properly cared from truck has probably had some mods, its ridiculous.

I installed a Ranch Hand bull bar brush guard on my RCSB soon after I purchased the truck... I liked the appearance, but I did not like the added weight and how that weight changed the way the truck handled. I removed the Ranch Hand after returning from a long road trip, and sold it to an owner of a crew cab.

When I was shopping for my RCSB I looked at doing it the other direction, importing from Canada to U.S. and it's the same thing, a pain in the a$$! I found information about it on a site www.ezbordercrossing.com
    Good luck on your hunt!

It is absolutely crazy to me what people will pay for these trucks. I love them just as much as you all but I remember buying my 2007 5.7 SR5 with console shifter for $17,700 in 2009. It was 2 years old with 30k miles on it. I got it from the original owner and it was basically brand new.

Here we are 12 years later and people are still paying those prices for much older and higher mileage trucks. Must be a testament to Toyota big time.

I purchased my newest one a 2007 5.7 4x4 for $9000 earlier this year with 214k miles. I told that guy no way I pay over 10k for a truck with that many miles, Toyota or not.

Anyway good luck with the sale. I am sure someone will pick this up.

What do these trucks have for payload? Always wondered what the smaller cabs have for payload as it drops significantly when you have a crewmax.

I looked, it doesn't state payload. GVWR is 6800lbs, subtracting the empty (wet) weight of the vehicle (5280lbs) from a previous calculation that I did some time ago but don't recall off the top of my head at the moment, I just found the result easy to remember as 5280ft is one mile, lol.

Ah got it. Thank you! I think a while back one of the guys on the first Gen forum had a standard cab tundra v8 four wheel drive with close to 2000 payload. I was thinking there was a chance these could be even more! Do you have the Towing capacity by chance? I’ve always wanted one of these trucks. If I was going to buy one I’d want it to have the 4.7, four wheel drive, with bench seat. I think that’d be sweet.

Well flog me until I write bad checks, I looked again and it is on one of the door stickers....1520lbs. Maybe that's how I determined the empty vehicle weight, lol. Sheesh!

I think the towing capacity is very close to 10K, I think the SCLB 2x4 is the configuration with the greatest tow capacity, going off memory though. I want to say 10.2k. I had a RCSB 1st Gen Tacoma V6 4x4 with a payload of 1100lbs, pretty surprising.

I agree that the LB versions have even more payload but even though I have 2 of them I can not recite the value from memory.
Mine are also both 4wd which weighs a little more and thus reduces payload some as well.

I was stopped at a red light the other day and there were 2 other regular cabs at the same intersection. Two base model short beds and an SR5 long bed. What are the odds on that? :monocle:

The regular cab want is bad!!

but I won’t lie, four doors is much more practical for me. Regular cab looks sweet though!

    This is what happened...
That was a vortex it time! The moon and stars were in the 5th stage of twilight, the seas at full tide and sun was being eclipsed by the planet Earth's shadow, all at once.
And this only happens once every million years or so....
Consider yourself lucky my friend! :)
