    Ahh I see. Thanks.

anyone ever used the rave off road aftermarket grill? Website says the amber/amber lights bolt on to their aftermarket grill but not oem. Customer service said the aftermarket grill is the same except for the bolt on abilities for their lights and it has a flatter finish where OEM is more satin. Wondering about quality though..

Anyone wire these to a spot other than the fuse box? Not excited about poking a hole thru the fuse block. They can’t draw hardly any amps.

There's a fuse box under the hood, where I tapped into for the markers

I'm assuming you have the LED, non-premium headlights? Do you recall which wire you tapped for the parking lights? Appreciate your insight!

    LED, NON-PREMIUM HEADLIGHTS

Did some digging around and found the parking light +12vdc parking light wire. I took some pictures that I'll attach below. It was very easy to access once removing the passenger side air-box. The air-box just pops out, but make sure you disconnect the MAF sensor and remove the wiring stay before yanking it out. Pull straight up and the rubber grommets below will let loose. tip: spit on the rubber grommets before putting the air-box back in.

I've traced the wiring loom we are looking for in blue, and the two other headlight connectors for reference. There is (3) total. The parking light / turning signal connector is very difficult to reach from the engine bay. you'll see in one of the pictures below I was able to access it by partially removing the wheel liner. You will not need to access this connector, I only did so for testing voltage. I was not able to even see this connector(s) from the engine bay FWIW.

Once the air-box is removed, peel back the electrical tape that the loom is wrapped in so you can isolate the GRAY wire that supplies +12vdc to the parking lights. Either use some wire strippers and solder in your tap w/ 18-22 gauge wire or use a posi-tap. Make sure you have some quality electrical tape on hand to cover up your new tap and close the loom once finished.

**Note that this circuit is not designed to carry any significant load. I would highly recommend using a this as a relay trigger if used for anything other than a couple small LED lights (fender flair LEDS, grille LED running lights, etc.). Do this at your own risk. If you are not confident with your wiring abilities, it might be best to practice on something else before taking a stab at your brand new truck.

Hi there, I followed what you did and used an add a fuse in that same slot and mine also come on randomly some times even when the truck is off. What fuse is the fuse for when the headlights are on? Many thanks for any extra info you might have.

as the parent of a specials needs kid, I can’t tell you how I much I dislike this approach.

but it looks like you’ve got a bum part. I’d check the wiring and soldering on the lights or get in touch with the vendor.

I did edit the post but obviously missed some quotes. This becomes a sensitive topic to someone that has "walked a mile" in those shoes. My apologies sir.

    Lots of stuff!
I have the Rave Amber/Amber lights and they all work! What I have found recently is that the fuse tap is a bit weak and doesn’t connect. I am going to connect my fender flare lights and DD lightbar and fix that at the same time.

If you can get 2 lights to work and the third is not, check the connection to see if the polarity is reversed. I think these are LED’s so that might prevent the light from working if wired backwards.

My better half bought me the Rave grill kit for Christmas. She did get the OEM grill, but with the Rave light bar and amber marker lights. I can probably live with the dimmer light bar given I’ll only need it a handful of times a year when heading to camp after dark.

The early feedback here on the marker lights has me wondering if I should wait and pick up the TRD marker lights.

    what’s the recent consensus?

I don't know your "better half", but if she's anything like mine, you better take what she got you and love it. Mine would shoot me if I returned something she got me in exchange for something else because I didn't like it.

She is cool, wouldn’t care one bit. I just don’t want to install them and have them fail shortly if moisture continued to be an issue. It’s just a marker light though…

funny enough she said, I got you the grill you wanted…. That looks exactly like the one you have now lol

I have the blacked out limited off-road grill now. Better than the chrome but looks a little “faceless” until I get the heritage on

Rave has a few different markers. The ones I got were called "Amber-Amber" and they are well sealed. The leaky ones were the units with the black backing plate. If you plan on doing the TRD Pro flares, you might want to get the TRD Pro markers for the grille. Then they will look the same and be the same color of yellow.

The Rave lights (Amber-Amber) that I had were very different than the lights in the flares. I think too bright and adding another shade of yellow to the truck was weird.

Installed the Rave kit including OEM grill, and Rave amber/amber marker lights + lightbar. More work than I expected but overall happy with the result.

Amber marker lights wired up easily enough. Yes they are brighter and a different tone of amber than OEM. I “may” replace them at some point with TRD but it’s not high on the list. They work well and really pop

the light bar - I have yet to wire it up. I appear to be missing a couple of pieces to properly install. Expected to have a second o-ring style ground wire and a red extension to connect the switch to the fuse tap wire (both of these are quite short…. Aside from getting this proper hardware, have others just cut some extra red from the extended cable from the light bar and just wrapped the ground around the drivers side bolt? I’m sure that would work but was expecting the kit to come with those two pieces based on their wiring diagrams..

Looks great! Mine will look just like that soon. How was it? Did you break anything? Any "gotchas" or surprises to be mindful of? I'm super apprehensive to snap panels off a new truck with so much plastic tabs, clips, etc.

I did break something - it’s one of a few different bumper supports, and the one I broke is connected to a plastic clip and has a bolt hole for the last bolt on the front of the fender well. I took the YouTube video a bit too literally when they said to use force to pry off the bumper from behind the fender. Take your time and try to push from behind as you pry from the front. I put everything back together for now. Ordered the cheap part to replace at some point but everything still went back together fine and is tight and secure. From what I’ve read this piece is an extra bumper support to help dampen damage in a collision. But it’s a thin piece of plastic I broke easily with my bare hands. Hard for me to see how that one piece is going to make the difference in a major accident though it could help reduce damage in a fender bender situation I suppose.

I learned and was a little gentler on the other side and didn’t break anything

I installed the Rave Stealth/Amber marker lights with the Rave light bar, on a OEM grille. I was able to get the grill for cheaper than I would have gotten the rave version thanks to some holiday sales (around $145).

I love the stealth look of these. So far so good, it has only been a week but surviving the heavy rains we've had recently. If these fail on me I will look at going OEM market lights next, but I really love the stealth look.
