I was actually thinking the same thing about leaving the break in oil in there longer. Totally agree with sticking to the same flavour of oil. Not all the oil gets drained during the oil change and having a few different oils in there might not be as optimal as only one.

I wish there was another higher mileage gen3 doing 10k OCI with a post 100k mileage oil analysis to compare my results against

    As far as my driving
    I idle alot
I drive 1000 miles every weekend, usually
    I would say I do 70/30 (highway/street)
    I average 20mpg

You are changing the oil often and still getting consistently high copper numbers so maybe. Does the truck run good?

I thought I was changing it too much. I did four or five oil change within the first year, but no more than 5000 miles And yes, the truck runs fine. Maybe I’m overthinking it. Not gonna it See what happens

Last 2 results. Went on a 3000 mile road trip down stateside through Montana and North Dakota after this and did some harder driving than the truck is used to in a very short time so I’m curious to see next analysis. Silver is creeping up but who knows what that’ll do.

If there is anyone on here from Montana or ND, I have to give you props for how scenic it was down there during my trip.

IMG_0337.jpg Attached is my latest oil sample . 55K on the Truck. 1300 miles on the new engine replacement. I had a catastrophic failure on a trip. The engine was replaced a the closest dealer to my break down. I drove it home 1350 miles home. first 8 were test drive by the mechanic and the rest was going home. Once home I changed the oil immediately . This is what we used to do in the olden days. 1st 600 to 1000 miles are break in and you SHOULD change your oil.
I expected the numbers to be high due to break in. Next one should be much less or these engines are not fixed from their issue.

So I got 130k on the odo with original factory motor & in the recall But I didn't do my 1st oil change until 10k
I've done every oil change (12 total) myself
    About to do #13
    My engine is fine
Kinda makes your logic illogical sadly
(Btw, I always did early oil changes on all previous brand new toyotas, in fear of not protecting my auto, current autos don't really require such over maintenance....let my mileage & maintenance put you at ease)
Changing your oil early/unnecessarily just destroys the earth & your wallet

We are not in old days no mo

Awesome news and proof to me this engine will end up being a classic like the 5.7 in the future.

What exactly needs to improve on this oil sample that you wouldn’t expect from break in oil? Also, except for the flashpoint and fuel% on your last sample before you had a failure, what do you think looked bad? More importantly, what indicator in any of these samples are you looking at to say that Toyota hasn’t figured it out if it doesn’t improve?

Here's my 50k on Kirkland 5w30, it also sheared down to SAE20 but not as bad as M1 did on my last analysis. I'll be running this for a while longer on 5k changes.

Probably the blend, Calcium is for LSPI prevention which is part of the oil requirements. I bet Warren just stuffed some extra in there.

First oil analysis for my 2024 SR5 at 13K miles. 3rd oil change and first one done by me and not at a dealership. All done at roughly 4-5K intervals.Oil Analysis 052025.jpg

Bought used. Vehicle was manufactured within date range of recall but not in scope of recall. First oil change was on Toyota oil. Last 2 have been Pennzoil Ultra Platinum. Might take Pennzoil to 10k for the next sample.

I decided to run a Blackstone test every other oil change. Shooting for 100k before I get a new engine. Build date 7/22
