My old filter had 2000km of highway driving and my truck is brand new.

Keep denying that my cai isn't good for my Tundra but I can feel gains from butt dyno and I'm sure 1/4 mile would be better :) I'll try to post numbers in the future.

Keep in mind that researching and listening to people isn't the same as experiencing something.

Iv tested 4 intakes on the tundra and theirs definitely a difference in terms of power and mpg. Now i do have stack mods but even a stock 5.7 will still get the benefits of using aftermarket cai. Now it may not get you better quarter mile times. But from 0-60 or even throttle response is improved. I will list the intakes that i think were the best for my application best to worst

    Trd intake with sabm
    S&b intake
    Stock with sabm
    Stock intake
    K&n intake
They all did something i like and dont like. The k&n sucked in hot air and lost power down low and up top and check engine light. The stock with sabm was really good kinda shocked me how good it did for such a little mod improved mid range and mpg was improved. S&b did great for me better mpg and better top end power. I had my box close because i live in Florida and its always 90+ outside. But low end did suffer alittle because the tube on the s&b is big than it narrows down this is good but they made the tube so big that velocity is slowed down therefore reducing torque at lower rpm but made good mid range torque at around 3500rpm. Trd intake with sabm made all the difference in the world. Im 2nd gen so the filter is a cone style compared to flat filter that 3rd gen uses. I felt a difference right away and made my truck feel lighter. I noticed alittle better mpg maybe overall 1mpg but the power is really good. More torque for down low and better top end than stock. Was it worth it hell yea. Is it power like supercharger or headers hell no. I do it for the fun of it and love doing mods its an addiction

    Great info Tundra power.

I love the look of the TRD intake but it was going to cost me around 650$ compare to 400$ for S&B. It was a no brainer. Don't you have to cut a hole with the SABM? I would never cut a hole in a brand new 2020 truck.

I get that about living in Florida and sucking in hot air. I live 600km North of Toronto so it's always cold here!!! I feel like my throttle response did improve starting around 2200-2500rpm!

I feel like you can do all the researching you want to do but unless you have bought it and reviewed it, you shouldn't be spreading false information. CAIs are amazing and they can be a great first mod for the next few mods coming up in the future.

Totally makes sense. I got a used trd intake for 200 in perfect condition. Yes the sabm you do have to cut a hole in the inner fender kinda scary but everything work out good and I get you, I wouldn't cut a hole if i had a 2020 tundra lol. S&B is good intake for sure and the best filtration intake on the market good choice. dont be like me and spend over 800 to see what the best intake. I sold the s&b intake for 160 and he said the intake got better mpg and power on a 3rd gen.

I believe what you're telling me as I've noticed improvements on fuel economy and power. I just brought my father for a drive and he was very impressed.

Just ran the Stillen for 225 miles in 90-92 degree temps at 80mph. Solid average of 16 mpg. Best I was getting before was 14.8-15 with cooler ambient temps.

I’m getting mixed responses from vendors. Does the TRD Cold air fit the 2020 5.7? I see no reason at all why it won’t fit. The engine has no significant changes. Anyone know for sure?

I think it's the same but my S&B box was different than previous models. Ask more people just to be on the safe side.

I went with the S&B intake after watching videos and listing to opinions. My number one choice was a TRD filter with SABM but I hated the thought of cutting a hole in my truck and what if I didn’t paint it good enough and then I started to get rust and everything so I decided not to do that. The best aftermarket complete CAI from what I saw was S&B. After installing I definitely feel a little difference in throttle response and that’s with the side closed. I live in coastal Mississippi so it’s very hot down here in the summer. Noise has increased. I’m going to put a Dirty deeds 8 inch system in sometime as well.

I installed the GTek sabm a few days ago. Noticed a different sound of air being sucked in the fender when revving it up. Then got it out on the hiway and noticed a rumbling vibration inwin theIthe gas pedal when I get on it hard. It is almost like an exhaust leak sound, but no exhaust leaks present. Is this all the extra air being sucked in making it rumble and vibrate more? Engine does sound throatier on the throttle. No codes and everything checks out. I might block off the new hole in the air box and see if it goes back to the way it was. It was smooth and quiet before the sabm.

So casually reading through this thread as someone who is looking for an intake, it seems that so far the Stillen and S&B are the front runners if you're not wanting to do any cutting to the truck with the TRD + SABM.

I'm looking to get some of the lost "pep" back in my truck on the lower end / accelerating that heavier tires took away. If I am correct, some intakes have actually killed the low end of the truck.

On the Stillen I haven’t felt any loss, but I’ve only had it on for 50 miles or so. I was watching the Trip meter and it seemed like the computer started to “learn” the new parameters at around 30 miles.

At that point I started to notice some more responsiveness and more of the intake whistling sound (which I kinda like). Acceleration feels better across the board.

I’m happy with it overall, I think the only downside is I don’t really trust those automated car washes with that front port open.

I want to give it some more time before I go posting a more complete review, but those are my first impressions.

Yea thats normal for the stock intake. Thats the extra air going in. When i put the trd intake on that sound went away and the intake has more growl now with the trd intake + sabm.

I don't mind the sound but it made me think something was wrong with the truck. It's almost like an exhaust leak sound/feel. I've heard of Cai changing the exhaust tone and engine sound.

Yea you have nothing to worry about.. It sounded the same on my truck. Yes with intake + exhaust will make the tone deeper and louder with the 2 combine mods..

Have you seen others use the 2019 TRD CAI? I've called Toyota and TRD and they both have said they don't have one yet for 2020 and they advised not to do it....

Thank you. I haven't posted for a bit and I've done a few mods since last. Hopefully my local Toyota has the CAI today after work so i can get it. I'm also in the middle of painting my engine cover and fuse box.

Hey! Nice TRD PRO! Let us know about any changes with your CAI.

I know when I did install my S&B, the changes were drastic, especially in the mid range.

How come Toyota weren't able to get it for you? Did you find a better deal online?

Honestly, for 650$ canadian, I feel like it's a very expensive modification for a Cold Air that will re-use the same box. I really wanted to go with that one compare to S&B but it's 200$ extra to support Toyota. Bunch of thieves.

Toyota for some reason hasn’t done one for the 2020 despite the fact the from 2019 fits. I like to keep everything as Yota as possible so that’s why I got this. Yea it was a little more but it’s worth it. I was looking at stillen tho just didn’t really do it for me. It arrives tomorrow to!! Very quick turnaround for Sparks parts online seeing as I ordered it Friday afternoon

I read through this thread and didn’t see any Volant love. So here it is. I love my Volant CAI. You can certainly feel and hear a difference. Especially when you stomp it. I had an air raid on my F150 and couldn’t tell a difference. The Volant is massive too. 64740450-3BBD-4895-9BA0-E67FE52421BD.jpg

the same logic can be applied in reverse to this. With so much power do we really notice the high rpm gains?

either way the truck still drives like a banshee. Towing a trailer in cruise control is where the tundra shines, i would much prefer to keep all that power
