We have heard rumors of the AT3W being replaced in 2024 with the AT4W and we kinda have a first look at them.

Tread pattern appears to be the same with a redesign of the shoulder blocks and sidewall.

    EDIT: Here is a listing(s) on a dealers site(s)
    https://www.pointstire.com/toppenish/Tire-Brand/Falken/Wildpeak+A-T4W
    https://www.wellsautomotive.net/Shop-For-Tires/brands/Falken/m/18056

EDIT #2: A LOT of sizes are no longer available on Tire Rack...especially those that are popular around here. I'm hearing rumors of January availability for the A/T4W.

Well, I’ll be damned. The exact size I’ve wanted, and just hours after mounting my LRE 285/75-18 AT3Ws!

I’m eager to see how these pan out compared to the current offering, which has proven to be one of the best tires out there.

the 35x11.50 is 5.4 pounds lighter than a 285/70. interesting

I wonder why the redesign since they seem to be so popular as is. I like them so much on my truck that I also recently put them on my wifes 4runner.

    Interesting
Will likely be shopping for new tires in the spring - hoping make it through the winter still on the current set of AT3W. Have about 70k miles on them and love them.

Much like when the AT3W was released, I figured I’d wait for a few hundred thousand of them to get tried out before I jumped on the bandwagon. lol.

Call me a pessimist, but if I had one of the highest regarded tires in the class, I can only think of one reason why I would change it up. Now, I ain’t sayin’ it was due to money; but I’d bet it was due to money.

Low 60 pounds for the 35x11.5/18 seems like my next tire. This is a good bit lighter than most 295/70’s. The current version and K02 are pushing 70 lbs. This tire is even lighter than the 285/70.

I see they will have a load range C 255/85R16. Hallelujah! It's about time we have an all terrain 255/85 that isn't for one ton pickups.

Yeah. That 35x11.50-18 LRC is gonna sell like crazy in our world.
34.9” tall by 11.9” wide and 62# looks like a great size for a lotta folks.

Now, I want to hear from the first 1,000 people that run them to see how they stack up against the AT3W before I jump.

My Discount Tire said they are in their system already but not in stock yet obviously. They gave me a price ($336) and took a deposit for 35x11.5 18s, essentially it’s the same as a backorder right now. They called Falken and they advised that this size should start shipping mid January. I’ll report back.

I have ran K0s, K02s and real A/T3Ws (not to mention the stock TRD Pro tires) as my last 3 tires so will be able to give a good comparison for Colorado driving and towing.

I'm curious about their specifications they've offered on the site. Something is off.
Unsure how a "35x11.5r18" is listed at 34.9" x 11.9" C load weighs 62.5 lbs and the "285/70r18" is listed at 34" x 11.5" C load weighs 68lbs. That's an additional 1" diameter and nearly a ½" width with the same load rating, weighing less by over 5lbs per tire?

I'd be surprised if it weren't a typo and those actual weights are reversed (they are directly 1 underneath of the other on their website).

yup i commented the same thing earlier in the thread. unless one has the doubled over sidewalls and the other doesnt maybe. idk.

also the new 35s being actually 35, and wider than the width listed in the name. will be interesting to see measurements on real tires

Hard to say. I changed wheel diameter and per the site, 285/75r17 (C load) is .5lbs heavier than LT285/75r17 (E-load). I think Falken may need to fire their copywriter.

Shudder. I hate reading ad copy. So according to that, more tow capacity and tire longevity. Otherwise largely the same?

Staggered shoulder blocks, updated rubber compound, and certainly better longevity.

    LOL.

I was hoping for improved weight / weight reduction. Not as big of a deal for our Tundras, but I put the A/T3W on my wife's 4R back when they came out and weren't $400/tire. The performance of the tires themselves was absolutely incredible but they turned an already sluggish 4.0 v6 into an absolute dog. Weight was my only complaint with them.

I got 75K and still had half tread on my old AT3W's on my FJ Cruiser with a 5 tire rotation. They wore like iron.
