    I've never even seen an ice fishing setup outside of TV or movies. I would have an issue trusting the ice to remain solid under me.

    Now THAT looks fun!

    Ice fishing is a great time with a nice set up just make sure the ice is safe, but you wouldn’t catch me driving my truck on any hard water deeper then a couple feet. I’ve personally seen two trucks go through the ice one was recovered one still lives on the bottom of Dead Mans Lake.

    This was what I call a fun afternoon with my son. The only downside was cleaning up the guns after the 200 rounds I shot and the 50 he shot.

    The ice today was 6" - 8" thick. Once it's that thick, your odds of going through are pretty slim. Being on lake ice is much different than ocean ice. Lake ice, at least on medium to small lakes, doesn't have swells and currents causing upheavals, cracks and fissures.

    This is actually a pretty good guide to ice weight capacities.
