    Here in Colorado if you want even somewhat affordable insurance a parent has to:

    -Paid driving instruction. This is usually around 1000.00

    -At least a year permit driving

    -Good student discounts. 3.6 GPA or better. I think my oldest is 3.88 or 3.92 right now.
