Well I am sick to my stomach...no bueno. Not a good night in my household.....

Wrecked the Mustang tonight. I was getting on the freeway with a lifelong friend around 7:30 tonight and a 4x4 block of wood was parallel with the road but in the lane. It looked like a small box at first until it was too late. My friend even yelled "box" before we hit. I couldn't move into another lane of traffic (had cars beside me and behind them). I tried to slow down and not swerve (didn't want to be one of those Mustang doing 360 videos) and was next to a guardrail. The 4x4 came in contact with my front control arm and not sure what else. The motor is pushed up and hood is bulging, front passenger wheel is rubbing on the shock, ground effects are just hanging. This was not a good situation. Had my hazard lights on and nobody slowed down and was still on the freeway. A couple of young girls came in contact with the debris and blew some tires. My buddy went back to check on them and see if he could wave any others off. There were wood splinters everywhere. The girls in the car didn't really wanna talk to some older guys they didn't know. I called the State Troopers out to see if any more debris was in the road. They were on it, but looks like I took the brunt of it.

The positives is I kept the car from coming in contact with anyone else at 75mph. Had I slammed on the brakes, pretty sure the front passenger wheel would have come out from under the car (6 piston Brembo brakes) since the control arms are severely damaged. Nobody was hurt and "stuff" can be repaired or replaced.

Still sick to my stomach. My high-school buddy couldn't believe how calm I was. I just told him nothing I can do about it now and yelling and throwing a tantrum on the side of the busy highway wouldn't help anything.

Another positive is a tow truck was in the area and had the car on the bed in 30 minutes and off the highway.

Definitely no Bueno. Hate to hear this Chris. You have the right attitude but painful too none the less. Unfreaking believable. Are you going to have someone look at it today?

Man, I can't even like this post. Sure, glad you guys are both okay. That could have turned out really bad. Not that it didn't turn out bad but it could have been worse. I don't know how you would have stayed so calm either if I had just spent that much money and the car. Was that torn up? I probably would have been the guy on the side of the road throwing a tantrum.
