Not as short handed as we were. Hired on two trainee's as in they don't know anything yet. I'm taking up the slack so to speak.

So what does someone need to follow in your path? Degree? Apprenticeship obviously. I know you do well financially.

Most of my peers were military trained. We did interview a young Marine yesterday from Pueblo who is trained in calibration for a Sr Cal Tech position. We need him and he will be paid accordingly. Someone with his background is few and far between now. An Associates degree in electronics or science will get you in the door. Aptitude is golden. There are a couple colleges that have a Metrology program that mirrors what you get in the military schools.

Actually, no. Thursday (our last day of skiing), she got run over THREE TIMES! She recovered from one and didn't fall, but the other two knocked her down. One of the boarders grabbed her trying to keep himself from falling, pulling her down with him. I used to not care much whether someone skied or boarded, but I am starting to develop a strong distaste for boarders. You know how many skiers ran over anyone in our group this week? ZERO.

I did both (ski and board). When people did come in contact with me I returned the favor. That did get my season pass punched on a few occasions though.

Skiing you have more control and can carry a lot more speed. Snowboarding you have less control (one edge and shorter).

    Afternoon everyone,

Just wanted to share that I am home alone which I have found to be a one of the worst things to be when you have a toyota truck.
You look for things to do on it and you scour the web for ideas and products for your truck. Sometimes it makes me second guess
what I have already done or plan to do.. lol

I can’t say that I agree. It’s like apples and oranges. The mechanics are different. Surface area, placement and method of the application of force, even snow type and angle of terrain all contribute.

But ultimately it comes down to people who respect others on the mountain and who work within the boundaries of their skill level. I honestly can’t begin to tell you the number of times in my 37 years riding that I’ve been treated like I belong at the back of the bus. To hear it still happening this many years later stings…as much as hearing there’s still folks out there that still embody the stereotypes

It is an apples to oranges comparison. I would still say more control on ski's (for me). I've done both but prefer snowboarding.

We would help out skiers all the time (pole, ski, or crash) to keep the relations up a bit. It is sad this is still going on and I turn 50 this year.

It used to be that my only gripe against boarders was thee way they scrape all the snow off when just sliding downhill with the board perpendicular to the slope, creating ice patches. My wife is a good skier - comfortable on most black slopes. I might could understand better if she was a newbie that was unpredictable, but she has a very predictable pattern as she goes downhill.

    Right
Goes back to newbs not knowing their own skill level and rising beyond their capabilities. I personally blame a generation…just happens most of that generation has taken to boards

I had a very unfortunate contact with a beginner on a black. His friends thought it would be funny to take a newb on this run and left him behind. He came out of nowhere and my blind side. At least he yelled "watch out" before he fell a couple feet front of me. I carved as hard as possible but came in contact with his face. His upper lip looked like a flap and required an ambulance run into town. He kept on saying "I'm so sorry for running into you" but he was the one hurt. Ski Patrol thanked me for getting him down off the mountain and then let me continue my day. Didn't feel like boarding anymore so I just sat at the lodge and had some beers. One of my worst days on the mountain for sure.

Yeah, even though he was clearly at fault, I'm sure you felt really bad about it. I would have to continue telling myself it wasn't my fault.
