Busy day ahead. Finally getting somewhere with all the hail damage we had.

Finally found a replacement vehicle for the wife last night. Vehicles tested/considered:

    Toyota RAV4 Limited
    Lexus NX-300
    Acura RDX
    Subaru Crosstrek Limited 2.5L
    Audi Q5 Premium Plus

The Lexus was high on the list and definitely the nicest/comfortable seating in the bunch. 4 cylinder turbo ran good, but having two vehicles in a household with premium fuel as commuters probably isn't a good idea at 25-27 mpg. Finding one was another issue.

The winning vehicle was the Subaru Crosstrek Limited 2.5. The wife always liked my Magnetic Gray Tundra...so this one she liked.
    IMG_2094.jpg IMG_2095.jpg IMG_2096.jpg
Hate to say it, but it's the better all around vehicle. Our last one was a 2.0L with a whopping 152 HP. That was not inspirational at all. Now the 2.5L has 30 more HP and plenty of get up and go. Surprisingly it also gets 1 mpg better on the highway 34 mpg. The only other gripe I had was the seats were horrible in the Premium trim. The limited trim with leather is very comfortable. Solved that problem.

Tried to get her into an Audi S4 or S6. That wasn't happening. :D

Cadillac wasn't either. We were trying to stay under 40k...not 140k. (Her words)

    IMG_2092.jpg IMG_2091.jpg

Need to box blade my driveway since the tractor goes in for hail damage repair this next week. 3800.00 in damages. Thankfully we have Kubota insurance and they are awesome.

Camper and house are next. Our camper is most likely totaled as well.

That is why she went with another Subaru. We had 85k trouble free miles.

Only downside to the Crosstreks was parts availability. Things like struts and air filters always seemed like a dealership only item. This time I will be installing a dry synthetic drop in air filter. Solves that problem.
Rear brakes would go rather quickly too. When taking corners, the rear brakes drag when under a certain speed to assist in making a tighter turn.

We get hail but never had any big enough to cause extensive damage. Pretty much depends where the storm tracks. Happens fairly quickly and you can't do much anyways.

Congrats on the Subaru! My wife wants an Outback (when she's not wanting me to give her my Tundra) when her Highlander dies. That hail is the stuff of nightmares!
