Thanks we haven't been able to get out as much as we like due to the weather. It's been either cold and windy or raining and windy.

Those conditions are not great on a performance ski/wake boarding boat. We have had a disturbing amount of deaths this year on Pueblo Reservoir/ Arkansas River this year already. The last one was due to high winds and overloading of the boat. Both parents lost their lives trying to save all the children. Very sad. Lucky two CWP officers reacted quickly and helped rescue as many as possible. Pulled 11 out of 13 out of the water.

Many moons ago I was out with some buddies on their mastercraft and high winds came up. We ended up beaching that bad boy or we would have sank. 90 mph winds and a lot of boats sank that day. It was crazy.

I actually don't care to be on the water at any wind above 9 mph and when I'm skiing I don't like the wind anymore than 7 mph. A competition ski boat just doesn't ride very well in choppy water.

This is so sad. We had a group of teens here last week decided they could swim across a lake even though swimming is not permitted. Half way across one teen went under. The others tried to find him but started to lose their energy and had to continue to swim to shore.

This is why when we go out on my dad's boat, everyone wears a life jacket all the time. (The law here says you just have to have one for everyone in the boat.)

Same here on the laws. The wind just picks up so quickly here that boaters get in trouble a lot. When I see white caps…I get a little nervous on small boats.

My brother has a houseboat on the Pueblo Reservoir, as soon as the wind picks up, just kick back and watch the madness ensue. People crashing their boats into each other trying to get off the water. Some of those little storms come quiiick and catch people off guard

Yes those storms come in quick. We would go during the week days mostly and be off the water by 2 pm. Hopefully your brothers boat didn’t get into that heavy wind 5-8 years back. I remember peoples house boats sinking on the docks (someone I work with had their house boat sink).

There should be a class you have to pass to get a boating license. From what I have seen launching and recovering boats…it’s needed.

If we go on weekends we'll go Friday or Saturday night and stay over just to get parking. Fortunately the storms rarely last long so the lake is wide open after it passes haha
They're on the north shore marina that got wrecked twice within the last 5-6 years or so. The dock can never hold together like south shore can. I think last year or the year before when the tire break broke loose it damaged their motors on the houseboat. Couple years ago someone smacked into their ski boat while trying to get off the water. Watching people launch their boats is comical. I have an old 90s jet ski but I'll only take it out on days it's not busy, I don't trust other boaters out there. Main reason I got rid of my motorcycle, same concern
