Official BS and shenanigans & Good Morning America Thread

Good morning Tundras. I hope you all are having a wonderful day.

Today marks a milestone for my family. 20 years ago, I was married to one of the best human beings I have ever known.



I was headed to Alaska and met her. I was the “never getting married, no kids, livin’ the dream guy….”

Well that changed and we dated for five months and decided to get married. We were going to set the date on the weekend of September 11, 2001 (my birthday). I have always been fortunate that one thing or another changed the date to December 1st. We would have been stuck in Las Vegas during the terrorist attacks. Only things she said when it happened was "I support you if you get called back to the Navy...". I knew she was a keeper.

We have always had our fun over the years. This is my wife with her shit eating grin after she suckered me into going all the way up to Idaho after a Moab trip went south with my brother and I (broke). She asked us to stop up in Idaho to get a few rocks. 4K lbs later we were loaded up heading to Montana. I always like this picture....the devil inside just peaks out a little.



This was years later up in Montana at a bar. My brother and I were wrecked....bad. That was a fun night.



The wife has always supported me in my obsession with motorized whatever. At one point, we probably had one street bike, four quads, and a few MX bikes in the garage. This was after an awesome day of riding with a military buddy I served with. This is my best Captain Morgan.



We started having kids and life really changed. How much was unknown at the time.

Another part of this day is my Dad's birthday. We lost him this year in October to Covid when both of my parents got it. Today he would have been 78 years old. Bitter sweet, but I'm so glad that he was in my life this past 47 years. He was a guide in so many ways from women, to his experiences in Vietnam, to life choices, friends, family and his faith. He passed with no regrets, and I have none.

I look forward to the next phases in our lives. I can and will retire in 2.5 years and my wife can do the same 3 years after that. What adventures follow....who knows as long as we do it together.
