    I try to be very open with my kids and my youngest is still at the age where she wants to tell Mom everything... But my oldest doesn't want to tell me anything, but at least she does go and talk to my best friend which is somebody her and I both trust.
    I hope I'm doing good with my kids I'm trying my damnedest that's for sure. I don't know why my oldest all of a sudden just stopped talking to me but it was very abrupt and honestly heartbreaking. But like I said above at least she took those and talks to my best friend because she trusts her and she is pretty open with her sometimes it takes a little bit for her to even tell my best friend stuff.

    Our youngest did that for a few years. She’s still not super sharing - she’s just a private kind of person - but has come around in the past year and a half. As long as she has someone she can trust that you trust too, that’s good…

    our kids have friends who have parents that have been very strict and very controlling. In all of those cases, it has backfired - in some cases much much worse than others.
