What bothers me about the blackout trend is the roots of it.

In the early 2000's people with poor credit and equally poor taste began to "plasti-dip" various car parts, sometimes referring to it as being "murdered-out". I hated it then, and I just can't see why it's a thing now.
Black wheels? What's the point in having a nice wheel design if it's blacked-out and blends in with the tire?

Sad to see the proliferation of black wheels on many of the Tundra trims. Reminds me of flat-billers driving around rocking plasti-dip. Ugh....

Has anyone got or seen a production Crewmax with the 6.5 bed? That's what I'm wanting but you're limited on packages you can add. Like Sport, but not Sport premium.

On a clear day, I can see Seattle from my house.
    Vehicle:
Current RAM 1500 owner waiting for the new Tundra "hybrid."
I took the markup data and copied it into an Access database for easy sorting. just double-click the table name.
I put it in order by Markup+Add-Ons - then State, but you can re-sort however you want.
The access file is in Access 2000 format (.mdb) so just about anyone with just about any version of Access can open it.
Had to ZIP it to upload it.

This is at a dealer near me. It's the 1794 Crewmax with 6.5. Wasn't sure of that's what you were asking about.

Ahhh. They are making them. My local dealer was telling me that no one in our region was getting any Crewmaxes with the 6.5 bed. They all had the 5.5 bed. One thing I'm looking forward to, to help justify the upgrade. Right now I have a 2019 TRD Sport 4x4. Wanting a similar one in blue or silver. Only, you can't get as high of an option package when you select the bigger bed. And Thank you.

I remember seeing my neighbor's minivan...he had 5 kids. He put spinners on it! Either the kids made him do it or he did it for the only shred of fun he had left remaining in his soul.

That plus arguing tow hooks are a necessity, but a locker is a waste. That makes zero sense.

It's the truck I wanted. Bought the Luxcare and Extended Warranty and been enjoying the heck out of driving it. Lots of likes in parking lots not that it matters. It is a sharp looking truck in my eyes.

I’m guess the lack of tow hooks is what got him started on the rest of it. It’s just hard to trust a trick with no hooks.
Once you go non tow hook, you can’t go back.

Honestly what could the capstone offer that would be beneficial? Self driving?

Based on how they are likely positioning it to be the Toyota version of GMC's Denali, I'd guess things similar to what we see in the new Lexus LX600 interior finishes and technology will be the differences vs. plantinum/1794 besides exterior appearance items like chrome in different places.

I mean the denali interior isn’t that much better than other trims. What could they finish the interior with to command a north 70k price tag. Seems silly

I'm only speculating, but guessing Capstone is about 5k more than Platinum. Probably get higher grade leather, real wood, better sound system, maybe some more technology, massaging seats perhaps, maybe full time awd (but total guess there), etc. To each his own on what's worth it or not. Having owned a Sierra SLT 5 years ago, I can say that I wished I'd bought the Denali instead, even if it was only slightly nicer, there was a difference.

Watch the video and I think he answers your question pretty well. It can be silly and it can also be a rewarding oneself. I like to think the latter in all cases.

You didn’t miss out. The seats are still trash and it’s just different colored trim pieces.

Haha. Well, I did think the leather was better, the digital dash was cooler and the magna ride suspension was more comfortable. You're right, still a GM, but I did like the Denali better than the SLT. To each his own. I'm hoping the Capstone is Lexus-like, because I'll buy it, but I understand if others think it's absurd.

If they give it 4 auto / LC 300 running gear with a Lexus interior then it would bring the Tundra back into consideration for my next vehicle, and put it at the top of the list for trucks. Fingers crossed!

I did notice that a while ago too but figured it would take Toyota another 2 years to come up with more info so I didn't bother posting it.
Thanks for making the effort while I was lazy
