    remote start, I have nothing
Retractable running boards are available on plat + 1794. Waiting for answer from dealer if wiring hardware is present on a limited so I could add them later

dealer installed level kit is news to me, I know they will offer a 3 inch lift kit for $3995 installed by dealer, if they offer a simple dealer installed level kit that would be awesome

I believe the 22 Tundra will remote start via a phone app. If it is for every trim level I am not 100% sure.

Like that with most cars, I’m coming from a wrangler JK I drive with the gas light on constantly, to the point that $10 of gas won’t get the light to turn off. Never ran dry yet, freaks my wife out who won’t let her car go below 1/2

Unless you park at the wrong incline and starve your fuel pump.. I’m guessing the fuel light comes on around 25 gallons for this reason. You can drive it to total empty but your asking for troubles like the 2nd gen.

$3,995 is only price of kit. You will still have to pay labor to install on top of that.

Yep, plus tires and you are in the $7k range.

The kit seems very nice and includes a lot of things over most lifts so U am sure Toyota dealers will want a premium to install.

This new Tundra certainly shook things up.

    Historically, I despise white vehicles.

I saw a white SR5 TRD Sport on autotrader and fell in love with it. Looks FANTASTIC. I was already imagining me putting on black Tundra letters on the tailgate.

I don't know what is about the new Tundra but white looks fantastic on it.

This particular one is the basic TRD package with a 22 gallon tank so that's a pass.

love the color match grill surround, this is close to my build but limited so I have chrome, not sure how I will like that, deff prefer color matched in photos. 10K mark up is aggressive for a base trim regardless of how good it looks

A fully loaded limited OR long bed 4x4 is about $58-59k and change plus fees.

    - remote start is standard on all trims (not sure on sr though), have to pay to use the app after the first year
    - electric boards are an option on only the 1794 and platinum (cannot configure them on a 1794 TRD OR package, can anyone?)
    - others have covered the toyota lift- this is $4k and premium. Lots of photos on the net of already lifted 22's- thinking they are using the sequoia or prior gen tundra coilover spacers for this lift.

I agree 100%. I would never pay over msrp for anything.

I'm browsing autotrader for a white SR5 Premium TRD Sport. Found one so far but it's a double cab. DC is what I initially wanted but now going for the crewmax.

I thought I read an article that just came out that they’re going to charge you to use remote start on your key fob know. So everything else will work on the key fob except the remote start unless you pay $8 or $10 a month. With the price of these new trucks that’s kind of nitpicking isn’t it?

I think people are confusing the app with the key fob. There are people with other Toyota vehicles that aren't paying for the app that have stated their key fob still works to remote start.

Good ole v8, these turbo v6 are usually not as efficient towing. I wish they would have tracked the trans temps and tested the brake controllers. My Tundra controller is absolutely abysmal even after the TSB re flash, would like to see if Toyota made improvements there. For placement i would of liked it to be in the area ahead of the shifter so as your resting your hand there you could reach up for it if needed.

a lot of dislike on the seats from many videos i watch, overall it seems like its a decent performer just catches up though and not moving the bar past anyone like the did when they introduced the 2nd gen.

I guarantee it’s in the fine print somewhere. But this kind of stuff is shady - charge me for the app, don’t charge me for the fob. Pretty soon we’ll need a subscription just to start them.

I wish they would've explained why the Toyota lost. Besides the tow hooks and comfort, it seemed like the Tundra beat the ram in actual towing. They said it had more power and he was barely on the throttle vs only having 20% left. 2500 rpm vs 4000+, quieter, more stable. From what they were saying seems like tundra should've won. I thought they used to go over where they all lost points. I would like to know if it is actual performance or is it just the subjective stuff like comfort and perceived quality which could vary amongst owners.

That's kind of what I thought. To me, it seems like the only real issue with the Tundra was a lack of tow hooks and the seats 'weren't as nice' as the Ram's. It almost seemed that the Ram won 'because it did a good job.'

I mean, I'd hope so. To me, this test was like a Ram passing a reliability test because its seats are nice and have held up over time. LOL

Overall quality of buying one over the other. Notice that both took a hit on value. For 60k they were both overpriced for what you got.

Quality of interior finishes and ride noise, price, braking, MPG, acceleration, etc. They judged the trucks as a whole. Towing wise, the Tundra seemed to have an ever so slight edge on that trim level Ram.

This. Sick of all these “wins” being based on subjective, gimmicky nonsense.

I’ve shit on the new Tundra a little bit but it took that W on this one.

It was a towing test, but the win/lose ranking was based on overall experience and which as a whole was a better truck.

8100lbs, right around the 4:55 mark. Good comparison for me as that’s about the weight of a trailer and my tractor.
