we'll see, if I had to exact guess I would say 3500

but a lot of people said "no way" on these trucks being 65-70 and they are

Just thought I would share my experience today. I was at a Toyota dealership and had the opportunity to climb into a 2022 Tundra Limited Crewcab. I currently own a 2017 Tundra Platinum Crewcab. In my current truck, I slide in and out, no problem with the surrounding door frame. I am a tall big guy. The 2022, I had to peel myself into and out of it. It was not comfortable. I know everyone is different and you should check them out for yourself, but in my case, I left wondering what little 5'8" engineer thought it would be a good idea to shrink the area that will always have a passenger in it and that being the front row. Chevy did the same thing to the Silverado when they changed the body style I think in 2014 or 2015. It's a shame.

I was talking to the sales person and shouldn't be above 2k upcharge. Like I said before I'd buy the TRD Pro just because it's a Pro, but the storage is too much to give up for nominal mpg- plus the added cost, and reduced payload.

this is what Im interested in as a taller guy as well, the A- pillar rake on the 2.5 gen is bad enough, if they made the entry way smaller from roof to top of seat or the A pillar is too raked again, its going to be a PITA to get in and out.

They made it a tad bit shorter, but also made the horizontal left to right narrower. It's sad that they did this. I'll just keep my 17 or perhaps if I find a 21 in magnetic grey I will grab that one.

I just got done test driving a 2022 TRD sport non 4wd. Definitely a crammed interior. This one didn’t have many bells and whistles. The windshield is more narrow. The back seat felt more crammed but they claim it’s the same size. Definitely had a different crawl in crawl out. The new engine is very smooth but quiet. Felt more like driving my wife’s 2018 Audi Q7 supercharged v6. Felt nimble. Less truck like. Could feel the smoothness with the coil overs. I liked it but was not blown away and prefer my 2018. I like the V8 roar. This is leading me to supercharging my V8 adding leather. Granted this model did not have an adjustable lumber so probably base grade on seat but felt cheap and wasn’t as nice or spacious in the drivers cabin as my current 2018.

Thanks for the honest review. How did it feel (space/comfort) inside compared to Ford or Chevrolet?

    Thanks for the reviews.

As someone who is 5'5" and feels that the 1st Gen is pretty much the ideal size truck, I'm hoping that the '22 will fit me well. One thing I've always had a problem with when it came to Fords is that they're designed for people 6ft and taller. I've heard the Tundra has a shorter seat which will be more comfortable to me. Shame they can't find a happy medium for you big guys and us small guys.

I’m 6’0 and it felt smaller. Not terrible just more GM like. But as discussed this thing does not drive like a GM. Drives more like a new f150 eco boost yet quieter and smoother also tighter steering. I would say a cross between that Audi Q7 Quattro v6 supercharged and a f150. Doesn’t really feel like your driving a truck. Especially without the V8 roar

I know but I couldn’t cycle through the different cameras like I think you can on the MTM.

I couldn’t figure out how to look at front only, or rear only or look down on the sides. Call I could get is a rotating 3d model of the PVM

95% of trucks I see aren’t being used as trucks. I guess Toyota was paying attention and created a family hauler so your wives could drive them too!

That was a really good honest video....... Wind or not, not one person that has tested or driven one of these rants and raves about it. Seems like everyone there now "something" is off about this new gen.

There is such a small window of error on these small displacement turbo engines. Something tells me to consistently get 22 MPG you will have to cruise at 55, least than 3 MPH Wind, be on perfectly flat ground.

yep that would make sense since it’s rated for 22 highway.

I just made this drive from STL through OK to TX. 15-18 mph gusts and I got 17.9- 18.1 average.

In 2 weeks I’m reversing that trip so I would be able to relocate his route.

Yeah the 5.0 I just picked up. I also used sport mode.

I’m driving back to MO using the same route and might be more pedal friendly to see what I can get.

my trip down was average speed 75-85

Appreciate the feedback shared on your observations on the 22 platinum. Just curious why you decided to sell a almost new 2021 TRD PRO and not maybe waited it out until the 3rd gen tundra goes for MSRP or less when things settle down, none the less congrats on the new truck purchase, F150 lariat is a good looking truck IMO

I ordered the F150 in May. It got severely delayed. My lease was up in sept so I bought the pro. I did enjoy it a lot and was sad to let it go but I sold it for more than I paid when my f150 finally came in for delivery.

the f150 fits more of the what my current needs are.

That is very true when making a decision on a vehicle purchase, which particular make and model may suit ones needs better. Congrats again on the new truck

I think the value on the Ford compared to the 2wd sport model tundra with cloth seats is a no brained. Based on my test drive I don’t see how anyone is going to pay over MSRP for a 2wd tundra sport. One thing to note the new cloth in the Tundras are cheaper feeling and hotter. Remind me more of cloth seats from the 90s. The cloth in the current 2nd Gen is like a cool microfiber and seems to be of higher quality IMO.
