Official 2022 Tundra 3rd Gen Thread

This irritated me when looking for a 21. I would need to put in different zip codes to see options. Why don't they have a distance you could set like car buying sites 100, 500 any distance.. I'm not even sure what the distance is that they use.

 

My parents live about 200 miles away from me and their zip code gives completely different options on the builder, so it's something less than that. Extremely annoying.

 

Placed deposit 11/1/2021 before pricing was released. Worked with dealership on order, only thing they could not get me was tow mirrors. Got call today truck being built 12/26! It’s a Christmas miracle

Test drove a SR5 trd off road (base model) today. The only one my dealer got in. Runs like a beast!! May not need a tune.

Northern New Jersey just outside NYC, I wanted red but apparently Toyota kept kicking it back, my dealer got notice the same day the builder was up on web that RED was not offered in that set up.
Windchill was an easy choice, I had been looking at the Lexus GX460 in starfire pearl for the past year. Wife wants a new RV so needed the truck to tow. Who would have thought that the Lexus IS the cheaper vehicle. But I’m happy with all the new generation technology. Coming from a Jeep Wrangler with manual locks and roll up windows.

How low can you safely go before needing to fill up?

 

It depends on how flat the ground is. If you pop under a 2.5 gen the fuel tank is about 6 feet long. That's why in general, the fuel lights will come on while there's about 6-8 gallons still in it. People would lose their shit and rant, but if you were to go a ton lower than that and then hit an incline you could pull all the fuel away from the pump and stall the truck.

I was curious if the 2022 tundra had landed nearby - so pulled up the naples FL Toyota site... lol - they had an early version of one of the 2022 guesses and not even the current press release. So, yeah, hasn't landed nearby yet. Maybe up north further. I'll have to poke around for Clearwater/Tampa/etc.

 

No clue, honestly. Best practice would be not pressing much beyond the fuel light. Anything beyond that and you are taking matters into your own hands.

Can I ask why you want to push so far without fueling?

Also, is your question regarding the 2.5 gen or the 3rd? I wouldn't even guess with the 3rd gen.

 

Was aimed at the 3rd, assuming it would be similar to the 2.5

I like to shop at Costco every 2 or 3 weeks, which is a little out of my way.

Filling up on that cheap Costco gas is more worth it the lower the tank is.

Well there you have it. 100% definite proof the 2022 tundra is better in every way then the Ford raptor lol

 

To be honest I was surprised by the outcome. I figured we'd have to wait until the hybrid version for this result.

 

0-60 in the 7-8 range isnt that impressive to me really, plus the 18 highway he got.

why did they not make a V8 again? lol.

I know I know , it wasn't broken in yet.

I still don't understand the complains with the mpg. He got 18.4 while interstate driving at 75 mph the whole way. That's a significant increase from previous gen.

 

Me too…a raptor on 37’s is slow compared to the GM 6.2 and a regular f150 on street tires.

Sure hope this new tundra tows like a peterbilt and rides great, cause damn, it sure is middle of the pack on everything else and costs just as much.

 

Driving 75, uphill… that’s a 14 mpg drive in my Tacoma lol
