If your wanting a tundra just get the current gen, I’m sure you can still find a few options. I will more than likely keep my tundra to be honest, if I was to change I would get the new Chevy 1500 zr2 with the 6.2 or jump back into a super duty, kinda miss the power in the super duty. I think the argument can’t be made in regards to reliability anymore since people only keep trucks for a few years and trade in on newer model. Anymore I just say get what you want and don’t worry about reliability, can always get extended warranty and resale value on trucks is pretty good across the board. That is why I think the market for older tacomas, 4Runner, tundras, land cruiser, gx/lx will always be excellent since a lot of people do keep vehicles for a long time and those people typically buy these specific vehicles. These forums only make up a super small percentage of truck buyers, alot of people don’t really focus on the specifics like many on here do, most just drive to the dealer and buy what they want regardless of cost.

Last 2 trucks I had were 1ton, one had a 4500 pound payload and the other had a 5800 pound payload. I once had a pile of super heavy logs in the bed and the truck barely moved an inch, was around 3k worth of wood. Took me forever to split the wood, I think I picked it up just to test the truck to be honest. Love me a big truck.

Right. I mean, call it rebates, or price drop, etc. My point is that at SOME point, it won't sell @ that price point. That's when I'll buy.

Toyota fucked up so bad with this pricing if accurate. I was thinking it would be about this price (60k) before addons with the hybrid engine for the platinum. Sales are gonna be even worse than what they are now, if they had any intentions in taking any market share from the big 3, this definitely wasn't the way to do it. World beater lol, more like they've taken all of our expectations and beat them into the dirt.

I just can't believe that Toyota has been trailing their dealers on this entire release.

Does anyone know if and what the dealers do when you add a dealer installed package for larger diameter tires on a vehicle? I tried asking a while back at a GM dealership if they recalibrate the speedometer and they told me no.. Makes no sense right? It would be nice to be able to do an aftermarket upgrade to larger tires and get the speedo calibrated.. Maybe that's already a thing and I am getting old?

I have the same question. I've never had a vehicle I put larger tires on so I don't know how big a deal it is if it's a small difference.

It depends on how large you go compared to OEM calibration. There are calculators that will show you the % change.

I don’t think Toyota cares what people will say about the pricing, it’s one of those things that they will sell regardless and if they only sell 100k a year who cares. This is not Toyotas bread and butter, they see it as a quality product and they don’t want to give it away. They are selling all the other vehicles they make and people are not gonna stop because it’s 10k more than comparable model of current gen. Even though I don’t agree with pricing, they know what they are doing. This is the new world we live in and for people that expect prices to go back down this is just more proof that it won’t. I have a lot of friends high up in the auto industry and they all say this is the new normal. If someone is worried about the cost than get either a current gen or find something similar used, if you are not worried than I say go for it cause waiting a couple years won’t matter. Everything in the world has gotten expensive and it shows no sign of going back.

Except that used cars are selling for more than new ones right now.

Maybe if everybody would just calm down and stop buying vehicles, prices would come back to Earth.

I doubt the 3" factory lift will be made available for the TRD PRO but who knows. Hopefully Coachbuilder develops a product that can get us a little more lift for the Pro.

Toyota has messed up this whole Tundra reveal from the git go. Those prices are icing on the lopsided cake.

“World Beater” has now turned in to “Wallet Beater.”
Not a smart move from Toyota. I’m assuming they will point to inflation for the increase.

If this pricing is accurate then I think toyota is going to lose a number of potential customers. My cap for a well outfitted sr5 trd sport would be about 55 as well.

Unless you drive 500,000 miles a year, why were you even considering replacing it?

No one is talking about the HP/Torque. He mentions in the video and shows on the spec sheet that the base 4x4 TTV6 has 348 HP and 405 Ft.lbs torque. I was surprised by that. That's quite a bit of HP off of the 5.7, MPG or not, that was kind of a let down.

$55k for an SR5 is utter insanity to me. It should be $55k CAD, which I was told is about $44k USD. In 2019, you would have been able to get into a Sierra SLT or Silverado LTZ for $55k USD.

I believe that's only the detuned version in the SR.

If accurate, they really screwed the pooch on getting in any converts. People are just going to stick with their boring ass Fords. GM has their interior refresh coming which is huge. Ram is in a tough spot now though because they are starting to get long in the tooth.
