A set of chrome bed rails and a straight vertical bug shield would really set it off.

I personally think that that is definitely the worst color to be on a Tundra. Although it's at the bottom of the list, it's growing on me ever so lightly. Still at the bottom of the list though

Exactly the same thing that is happening on this thread now lol there’s not a lot to talk about until people have trucks in there drive way so it’s mostly jokes at this point.

I've never really said this out loud to someone, but I'm kinda sad that this new gen Tundra (and I'm assuming every future Toyota) doesn't/won't have traditional universal buttons anymore

    I'm talking about these:

I guess we'll just have to rely on a Switch Pros or SPOD or similar system (which seem kinda nice, not gonna lie)

I've been wanting to wait for the hybrids but my dealer sent me this one. Says it will be here in 38 days. Really wanted a loaded up platinum and not a big fan of army green but made me think about getting this one for a year and the trading it in on the capstone once available. Wonder how these we hold up on resale value. Also told them I wouldn't pay over msrp and they stated they will only add 1495 for a "protection package"

So it's not the model you want, color you like, and it include upcharges... I would just wait.

if anyone is interested is watching toyota sales per month and to see if dealers are starting to sell new tundra's, here is a github program that runs in a webpage that pulls dealer sales/inventory and you can download a csv of the data pulled. just click the csv link in the bottom right of the webpage.

If you are in a hurry to get one then jump on it. Just don’t let too many of them pass because that happened to me on M3’s. They were offering 6-8% off sticker right when they came out. I thought the deals would get better but now they are MSRP if you can find one that’s available.
If these truck gets hot dealers will quickly mark them up once they hit the lot.

On the other hand those Jeep L’s were flops and a ton of them are sitting on lots around here. We test rode one and we’re not impressed at all for a 50-60K suv. The doors slam like a wrangler and suspension was stiff.
I wouldn’t expect the tundra to disappoint though.

that stupid 22 tundra Facebook group puts me into panic mode 2-4x a day. Someone always chimes in and saying hybrids won’t be available until May at the earliest and I start to wonder if I shouldn’t grab a non hybrid now to drive until it launches (selling my truck Friday). Talked over the weekend with a buddy who just sold his Toyota dealership (in March of this year- smart move on his part) and his Toyota rep said hybrids in March so hoping that means on dealers lots in March, not building in march.

I’ve seen a few reputable dealers and Toyota corp people say most TRD Pro deliveries are coming later than March.

I see L's around here all the time and the reviews have been good as well. Reliability is a different story, but most people lease and don't care.

Those are typically buttons you wouldn't be using as often so it isn't really that much of an inconvenience.

I think we expect them to start being built in March with deliveries starting late March/early April. Toyota held up their December timeline quote on the non-hybrid so I'm hopeful they can do the same for the Pro.

Me too man, me too. Still stuck in the 1794 OR v Platinum debate, guess I have time and am first in line for both

I'll still never understand why they did this. If they don't see the Plat as OR then the Limited should be able to come with more.

Exactly, such a stupid decision. Same thing so the color choices- all TRD pro and SR5 colors should be available in the platinum- they all use the same trim pieces (minus grill insert), so make them the same.
Dream build- Lunar rock 4x4 hybrid long bed platinum with OR package and advanced tech/ running board package

Thinking about it more, the switches for the interior lights and cargo lights are actually in a pretty good place in the 2.5 gen. I'm more likely to need to flip them on when standing outside my truck than sitting in the driver's seat.

“Using the SPORT or SPORT+ settings under Drive Mode Select, i-FORCE MAX makes use of the electric motor’s instantaneous responsiveness. Although the electric motor does the bulk of the work at lower speeds, once above 18 mph the gasoline engine is constantly in operation for excellent performance in the mid- and high-speed range. When in TOW/HAUL mode, the i-FORCE MAX system is constantly in operation to provide impressive acceleration and torque for towing needs.”

It’s going to be a beast in sport+/ tow/ haul. Can’t wait to see the 0-60 times in those settings with the Nannie’s off.

The Toyota Tundra battery is nickel-metal-hydride this has been the go-to battery for all Toyota’s and Lexus since the beginning of the
hybrid Toyota offerings (20 years ago).

This was the battery that was put into the Toyota Corolla in 2001, over twenty years ago.
    https://drivenautos.com/2021/06/the-first-ever-toyota-corolla-hybrid/

However, in 2021 Lexus introduced the Lithium ion battery in its ES lineup.
    https://www.autoguide.com/auto-news...awd-model-and-lithium-ion-hybrid-battery.html

How long does a battery last they say 100,000 miles but some say longer.
What is the current warranty on a hybrid battery?

what does this battery do for the all new world beater killer sexy Mandalorian savage TUNDRA? Let the numbers speak for themselves.

    2022 Tundra Engine Options:

    i-FORCE MAX Powertrain
    • 3.5L Twin Turbo V6 Hybrid
    • 437 hp @ 5200 RPM
    • 583 lb.-ft. torque 2400 RPM
    • Max payload: 1,940 lbs.
    • Max towing: 12,000 lbs.
    • Ni-MH battery under rear seat
    • 4x4 models use part-time 4WD system
    i-FORCE V6T
    • 3.5L Twin Turbo V6
    • 389 hp @ 5200 RPM
    • 479 lb.-ft. torque 2400 RPM
    • 8 hp & 78 LB/TQ more than current 5.7L V8

Sweers is driven by market surveys. He's said many times, "Our customers don't think that is important to them." Things like front recovery hooks, full-time 4HI, rear step bumper aren't important from market surveys.

I've completed several Toyota surveys. Dealers have asked if I minded and then email it out to me. It typically goes through dealer experience etc. and ends with likes/dislikes of the vehicle and reasons for purchase.
