I think the Capstone Sequoia will be the money maker between the two.

I'm a proud owner of multiple Toyota trucks over the years as well as many Lexus vehicles. I think many on this forum dramatically underestimate what people are willing to spend on a Tundra that competes with Denali or Platinum F150.

As of 2020, nearly half of all Sierra sales, which includes both the GMC Sierra HD and the Sierra 1500, are with the Denali and AT4 trims, further underlining customer demand for high-end, premium pickups.

Oh the Capstone Tundra will sell for sure, I just think demand will be higher for a Capstone Sequoia. At least if it’s not priced as high as the Lexus LX600.

I agree with you. I'm guessing it will be like the Yukon Denali, pricewise. I believe 56% of Yukon's are sold in the Denali trim. I'd guess Sequoia will be similar.

Maybe Capstone will have an onboard generator like the hybrid should've in the first place. Powerboost wins this one

This is still the same Toyota that put out $90k Land Cruisers. It makes sense to me that the Capstone Tundra will be aimed at the crowd buying $80k F150s. Will it be $80k itself? Maybe not, but it could get close.

I agree that the Capstone Sequoia will probably come the closest to filling the vacant slot left by the Land Cruiser. I hope that, since it's filling the Land Cruiser's spot in our market, it goes back to a solid rear axle.

On second thought... I was hoping the 3rd gen Tundra would basically be a full size Hilux. I probably shouldn't also hope that the new Sequoia will be anything like a Land Cruiser.

Well I’d pay at least $1001 for a nice 96 F-150 4x4 with the 4.9 as a hunting/fishing and dump run truck- other than that I’m with you;)

I miss my 83 4x4 with a 4.9. I actually blew the engine in it believe it or not

On another note, I've had info that the capstone trim existed when talking to someone in January, but he was vague with the details. Said it was supposed to shit on the other trims. He was correct about the capstone trim, so maybe he will be correct on how good it is as well.

With GM switching to IRS in their full size SUVs (and maybe Ford too?) I can't see Toyota going back to a solid rear axle. But what do I know?

well its kinda weird having a capstone compared to a platinum f150 since the limited f150 is above the platinum.

probably should compare top of the line trims on each brand, not top vs next step down.

    capstone tundra = limited f150

    platinum tundra = platinum f150

thats how i look at it

You are correct, thanks for straightening that out. The spacer doesn't compress the spring, just lifts the body. So it's a simple method to get some lift. I think the variable-rate springs will be nice, I noticed there wasn't much squat when they had trailers hooked up with no WDH.

For those wondering- the TRD lift kit will not work on the AVS/ air ride equipped models according to Mike Sweers. Not sure what that means for 1794 ordering- off-road package + advanced package (or if that’s even an option).

My dealer is telling me it’s going to be nearly impossible to find a 1794 or platinum without the advanced package on it.

So the transmission and/or transfer case on my 4runner $hit the bed last week, and I originally had it towed to a dealer for evaluation. Was there this morning to pay the diag fee & have it towed to a transmission shop & saw build sheets on the window, one below.

SE Toyota (at least this dealer) is $100 more proud of the spray-in no slip liner than other sheets I've seen so far. Haven't seen the "XP package" on other build sheets; might just be a regional term.

No, you can build what you want with the options and then it will give you a button to "Contact Dealer" who will inevitably say: "Well we got one that's similar coming next month, how do you feel about not having that one package you really wanted?"

Sure, as long as you are patient enough to wait for Toyota to fulfill your request within the dealers allotment, that's if the dealer can't locate one that matches your build and do a dealer trade to acquire it.

Being a DC the bed will be longer so guessing why the cost would be more than a crewmax

Have they added the missing external trans cooler back to the 22's? The good kind I mean that actually cool the oil.

Pro still looks the best I think. Really excited to put some 35s and a level on it. March/April can't come soon enough for me.
