Actually the manufacturers are losing billions of dollars by not being able to produce as much as before. The semiconductor chip shortage is now expected to cost the global automotive industry $210 billion in revenue in 2021. They would love to produce cars as before, now the stealerships on the other hand are making big bucks during this crisis. They are paying the same amount to the manufacturer as before but selling at a much higher price therefore making bigger profits. As soon as manufacturers can get back to normal production, prices will come back down. It might take some time for things to even back out though but I have no doubt that we will get back to normal eventually, how long is anyone's guess that could be a year or two down the road imo.

Co-worker saved $15K or so off a F150 XLT in early 2020. Another guy recently bought an Explorer for his wife, saved around $18K.

I had this experience in 2020. Dealers acting all weird. Saw some nice trucks at a dealer who said they aren't for sale and wouldn't tell me why....whatever.

I had one threaten me that if I don't accept the offer within an hour, the deal is off. I hope my Tundra purchase will go well.

I believe it adds rear spring spacers as well. That would make the ride a stiffer in the back too as well as affecting payload.

My personal opinion is that paying $1000 out the door on a Ford is over paying. They're only worth scrap metal prices to me.

    Question regarding options...

looking at the SR5 4X4 and looking a the package price list...Any idea why the Advanced Tech PKG and the Advanced Off Road PKG would be a $1000 more on the 5.5 bed compared to the 6.5 bed? Same trucks, just a longer bed. Makes no sense. Am I seeing it wrong?

Everyone’s entitled to buy whatever they want. Just like everyone’s entitled to their own opinions, for whatever that’s worth. But I do have to say. I’ve been on many forums (gmc, ford, ram, Toyota and even Tesla). This forum and the Tesla forum are the only ones that are guaranteed to bash someone for buying a different brand. I mean god forbid! But to each their own.

    6 inch lift. 35x12.5. On 22’s
Honestly I know I am going to overpay when the Pro comes out ( including the 3 inch lift and 35’s)… I understand the current market and ok to pay as I have been waiting a long time for a new tundra….I live an area with many dealerships but a lot of people with disposable income here so I understand my position clearly…..

Yeah...I owned a F150 before my Tundra. It was a steaming pile of shit. I drive a brand new 2021 F150 for work. It also, is a steaming pile of shit. I owned a GMC Sierra and Ram 1500 before the Ford. They were fine, but not perfect. Neither is my Tundra. I've owned them all and depending on the Tundra pricing in Canuckistan, I may end up buying a GMC Sierra HD instead. I really don't care what anyone buys.

You want to see toxic attitudes on a forum? Head over to the F150 forum. Night and day difference here. We'll kid and tease about truck brands, but at the end of the day we're still family. You may notice that one of the moderators here doesn't even own a Tundra. In fact, there's more than a few members here who have moved on to other brands and still stay active here. There's a reason for that and it ain't because this is a toxic place.

I owned an F-150 for years. Was an awesome truck.

I'm trying out Toyota next. I am sure that will be awesome too.

Toyota is great. I’ve had 7 and only one really had problems. Toyota bought the tundra back and gave me a great deal on my pro to stay with them.

So how long will it be before you can walk into a dealer and place an order for exactly what you want? How long does this allotment cycle or what it’s called last?

I research before I buy. Best place to look if there’s problems with a manufacturers truck is on their forums. Then my wife was debating a Tesla. No way in hell.

Depends on who you ask it seems like. I’ve heard Toyota never does straight up custom orders but rather the allotment style. I’ve also heard it will die down after the first few months of rollout.

How does a spacer on the rear spring make it stiffer?

Compresses the spring just like a spacer lift on the front.

I was pretty excited about the 2022 trucks especially with my daily commute. The new estimated fuel economy was going to be a nice change for tundra…. I currently own my second tundra a 2016 crew max with the front bench seat. My first was an 08 double cab with the console. As my family grew my seating capacity needs grew….. I NEED the front bench and in looking through the posted option sheets it appears Toyota has alienated me as a future customer….. I love my tundra and was hoping to continue to be a loyal customer but when it’s time to replace my current truck I will be looking elsewhere…..

Can anyone confirm does the rear window on the doors in the double cab roll down?

I'm in the same boat. I have wanted a nice truck my whole life and it just so happens I can afford one now. Bad timing on my part but I have waited long enough. I am very excited to part of Tundra clan.

Yeah they are combining other incentives, X plan is less than a half percent off dealer invoice cost which translates to about $2K less than MSRP on the explorer

I’m still curious of what extra features the capstone will have to make it stand out from the platinum and 1794.

No, that’s not what I meant by that. I doubt Toyota will have Ford like electrical problems. I was just saying what problems I’ve seen first hand with complicity of a small engine putting out this much power.

I don’t see anyone bashing other people (granted, maybe a bunch of posts got deleted before I read the last couple of pages of this thread). People do seem to have a lot of negative opinions about Ford on this forum, sure. I think the majority of those come from personal experience with a Ford product.

The best thing I can say about the F150 is that it’s a nice truck for a far shorter time than I plan to own my Tundra. It is powerful and more efficient, but it is objectively not made as well. Look at all the issues people have with their current Fords and the sheer number of class action lawsuits against Ford (many for being outright deceptive).

It is absolutely no surprise that people who value reliability over everything else tend to not really like Ford’s current offerings. But sharing personal experiences with other trucks and having negative opinions on other trucks isn’t exactly bashing other people.
