2018 Tacoma Dbl Cab Long Bed Off Road
I found a Limited, Crewmax, 6 1/2 bed with TRD Premium Package and some other things at a local dealer. MSRP was $63k - I only know because I found the window sticker on their website listing. On the showroom floor they had removed all the Monroney stickers. That should have been my first clue. I let them look at my truck (2018 Tacoma Dbl Cab Long Bed TRD Offroad with 26k on the odometer) and give me some prices. They were fair on the trade - $30k but moved to $34k when I told them that's what I'd take - and drumroll - $75k for the Tundra. Yep 12k over sticker. Needless to say I'm still driving the taco...

Seriously considering a F150 Supercrew, 6 1/2 bed, with either their 3.5 ecoboost or 3.5 powerboost in Lariat trim given there are some dealers doing 3 to 5% under invoice on customer factory orders

    Hey guys,

I'm new here but I've been looking around for the past few days for some information about the front air spoiler. I was wondering if anyone knew what trims it would come on?

I'm looking at getting an SR5 TRD Off-Road

I believe the TRD off-road package deletes the front air dam

I'm not too sure about that. I've seen a limited TRD off-road that has the spoiler.

I view the move from Toyota as a pricing strategy play. If you look at SAAS companies and their three tier pricing where they’re almost identical features but priced as $5, $10, $250 per month, the intention isn’t to get you to buy the $250/month plan but perceive the $10/month plan as more valuable.

What you said is proof of that. The ridiculously priced capstone is $76k and the more reasonably priced and similarly featured platinum is $66k. The biggest companies who don’t care about the difference will go for the highest tier just like there will be some ppl who go for the capstone but the platinum will sell far more models.

Got my 2022 4x4 Platinum a couple of weeks ago. I got Platinum only because I wanted the camera package which is nice and the longer running boards with the tailgate step. I wish I could have gotten it without the panoramic sunroof. It is a nice truck BUT the stupid technology on it makes driving and using it inconvenient. They want to sell you on a service from ATT that gives you notifications like "the doors are unlocked" on your phone---I cut it off. They want their software which is still very clunky in addition to CarPlay. The biggest thing is the absolute craziest thing is the driver profile. Your profile does't load automatically---you have to enter a pin. I would trade this truck today over this cumbersome 14 inch screen and hard to navigate technology. Give me back more big knobs and forget all this other stuff.

Dealer speak and actually getting the deal at the end of the day are two different things. I'd be surprised if they pulled through on that considering it's not out yet. And even if so it would still be more expensive than every Tundra other than Capstone.

I have a Canadian SR5 off road and they don’t come with the front air dam, it is “deleted” from the factory.

Lol wishful thinking!! I’m assuming with the installation you’re looking at around 6k. It’s a full suspension lift.

Destination not included unfortunately. Wont stop anyone from buying them, but these will be hard to find with no options, which even at base without the Solar Octane color come out to $68,500. Add another $495 if you want the orange.

Once you've added dealer fees, registration, etc and sales tax if you live in one of the 45 states that have it, its going to be near impossible to leave the dealership at under $70k.

They look pretty snazzy but its a hard pill to swallow, I bought my 20 Pro for 49k (was discounted 4k) and got an order in on a 21 for 57k. 10k is a big year over year increase. I'm excited to see peoples posts on here though once they get them. I'll live vicariously.

Motors still have oil changes. Battery packs still need coolant changes. If you live in the rust belt, you need maintenance more often on other components.

Must be a Canadian thing again. My order for a Limited TRD OR shows it as a deleted item. Can’t confirm until it arrives

I think this is a factory option and comes from the initial original build as the Advanced package would so I assume that includes installation. Its not on the website yet to build it into your vehicle so not sure it will be a package or a dealer accessory. Whether or not you can custom order it is the other question.

Bilsteins, decent UCAs, taller springs up front (who makes these?), rear spacers, etc. I get that the appeal is having the dealer install it so that it is included in the warranty, but aren’t there far better kits out there for $4k?

right now they just need to get the normal trucks built right, lol. lets not complicate this further for them at the moment.

Man, with $4k, I put together a pretty sweet lift kit. On top of that, the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act will have your back

There's a lot more than those few items. Look at post #5161. Probably Eibach springs. Extended front drive shafts is probably $700 alone and you'd have to add those to other kits.

Of course, we'll have to see what Bilsteins are on it. If they're 2.5's that's good, res even better. Also there's the details TRD always does - bumpstops, swaybar reloc, extended brakelines.

I'm curious which lift kit on what truck? $4k is a hefty sum no matter which kit.

Did a little photoshopping while bored lol
    Kinda my dream configuration:
2022 1794 trd off road long bed army green with trd pro grille.png
What's shown: Blacked out Toyota Tundra 1794 Edition Long bed TRD Off Road in Army Green (TRD Pro inspired) - with TRD Off Road wheels - TRD Pro grille - tow mirrors - TRD badging on hood - bed decal deleted - door chrome trim piece deleted - grille surround color-matched

EDIT: Now that I look at it, it's basically a long bed TRD Pro in Army Green. One can only dream LOL
