My mistake. When I read your post, my brain read "TRD", not "TSS".

Seriously?! That's in the Owners Manual? What's the point of having the roll down window then?

I see no posted results in that video. Just a claim of power gains. Pretty useless.

I apologize…I downloaded the manual and did a “rear window” search and did not find that. Guess I should have searched “back window”. Funny though they call it a “rear window” when they talk about defogging it.

I understand that, but they didn’t show the dyno plot. Just some numbers in the description. Unsubstantiated claim = useless.

There we go. Not bad, kind of weak numbers stock though.

4Runners used to pull in a lot of exhaust gases into the cab. That’s probably why they have this verbiage in the owner’s manual even though Tundra’s exhaust is far far away from the glass.

Who has towed with their 2022? I have a boat that weighs about 7,500 lbs total including trailer and my 2019 TRD Pro squats significantly. I’m torn between a Limited TRD Off-road or doing a Limited with load leveling or Platinum with AVS.

Coming from my TRD Pro, I’m leaning toward the TRD OR, but don’t want to have to add aftermarket air bags due to trailer squat (a load distribution hitch is not an option due to the folding tongue).

The pic isn’t the best, as this was when I took delivery of the boat on slightly uneven ground, before I purchased an adjustable hitch which helped the squat, but it’s still quite noticeable.

Do you off road a ton and need Crawl control and MTS? If not, get the factory air option and use it. Eventually you will be able to get aftermarket air bags for these trucks, but who knows when.

I do a bit. I typically use an off-road capable vehicle but I do have a 2003 4Runner lifted on M/T’s for that duty currently and I had a ‘15 Pro before I got the tundra for more towing capacity. As far as the tundra, I can’t predict what I’ll use it for in the future, but I prefer the styling of the grille, flares/trim, and wheels/tires on the TRD OR more than the regular limited.

Just went through the same decision process regarding towing. Coming from a 4 Runner TRD Pro that had significant squat towing my camper and boat. Tried out a friends tundra TRD pro and also experienced a dropped rear. Ended up with a platinum with AVS to reduce the squat since I tow more than I am off roading.

    Nice boat!

You sound like you were in a very similar situation as me. I just posted my 4Runners above. The more I’m thinking about it, the more the Platinum might make sense. I’m curious in the differences between the AVS versus the air assist on the Limited

Your Pro "squats" because it's leveled. Buy any truck with some rake and you'll be fine.

Thanks I found someone else linked to it.

Pretty low stock numbers vs claimed output. So either the driveline losses are around 20% or Toyota isn’t delivering on their claims for power. At least assuming the dyno in question is calibrated well.

Very true. Also I wonder if this unit is plug and play. As the link provided mapping and fuel octane level to achieve certain results.

Reading through the thread I think it is a piggy back plug and play unit.

Perhaps the Limited without the auto level or TRD OR is the way then. A part of me wants the Pano roof, but I don't use it in my '19, so I'd likely not use it in a '22.

So I read through you other post about the mods and the other guy. Maybe a dumb question you already answered but you think this type of unit/mod cracks the ecm?

does anyone know what makes the sport .5 inches lower in the front? Shorter spring? more compression(if that even makes sense) smaller shocks/struts? anyone with any feed back....
