Then how can you compare? Use the power option not turtle mode.

I say if we have a poll of guys with 10k miles report if they had turbo failure. I’m guessing it will be greater then 10%. And those who notice some issue cosmetic or not will be 100%. I’m just hoping the next 100k miles will be very reliable.

I used eco in the F150 all the time. So I'm comparing apples to apples in that sense.

Assuming both work exactly the same.

That's what I was thinking, just because they both have a button/light/label called eco... doesn't mean they work the same.... ;)

    A bunch
I think that's easy to say, other than a couple small things that can be huge to some people - overall length and rear legroom in the CM. Those who truly need tow hooks more than once or twice are most likely to replace the front bumpers anyways so it's kinda a non issue in my mind.

The thing that sticks out to me is whether or not its a big enough upgrade to sink more money into. In my situation I have about 18 months to pay off my current Tundra. If I go to a 2022 Limited I reset that clock to 84 months with a similar payment (if they ever go back down to 2% financing that would make the new one slightly cheaper each month). If I currently had a CM I highly doubt I'd be really interested in a 2022 - it's better but not 68 more months of payments better in my mind. Maybe a test drive will change my mind, but gonna be hard to sink money into something only slightly better.

I'm definitely not buying one unless I total my current truck or something like that but I know that in keeping my vehicles for ~15 years I'm a bit of an abnormality among North Americans (though maybe not among Toyota owners).

I agree, with both you guys. I’m fortunate that I don’t need financing- that would be a big game changer & cause some serious thinking. If I owned something newer than 13 yrs old, only 3-5….I’d also have to really consider if the 22 is the right choice for me now.

We each have our own pro - con list to consider if this purchase is worth it. I like many, wouldn’t be buying it if I wasn’t where I’m at right now.

I test drove a 2022 SR5 today while killing time at the dealer. I was impressed. After hearing how the interior was smaller I was nervous but there is plenty of room and I did not once miss the V8.
I then drove a 2018 F150 Lariat with 61k miles on it. It was surprisingly nice. I wanted to hate it but it was a great truck.
The price difference between the 2 was only about $10k. I’ve always said I would never buy a new car but for $10k I feel it’s crazy not too.

Yeah, it's a bad time "Steven King" like horror show shopping for a new car right now but an absolutely horrific "Wes Cravin" like time to shop for a used one!

Yeah, I just can’t justify buying used. I hated the New Tundra when it came out but I was wrong. It’s pretty awesome.

That happens a lot with big changes. I've said it's ugly way back when it was first revealed but also added it would grow on people over time. That happens to me with the new Cadillacs and Corvettes too. When they first come out I'm like YUCK, then a few years later I can't even remember why I didn't like the change and the older ones look strange whenever I see them. I'm not there yet with the new Corvette though.

Oh really?? I knew the A pillar was a vinyl sticker to black it out but I haven’t hear that that spoiler piece on the tailgate was wrapped. What models do you know of that are wrapped on it? I have a platinum on order so I’m hoping that it just wrapped because I’m not particularly fond of the black portion on a white truck.

Only time will tell the final answer on this, so I guess for now, you have to choose who to believe, the guy who has some actual information from Toyota (the only ones who know) or the crap load of Internet posters and YouTubers who are just repeating what they hear from each other, over and over and make it seem like a ton of vehicles involved. 10% is a huge cry from 0.1%.

Someone who works in the building next to mine just bought an arctic chill limited and that black pillar is honestly the only thing on the truck I saw that I didn't like. Not sure why they put that there. Beautiful truck, otherwise. Look way better in person.
