yeah the wife loves her blue toyota trucks. i wasnt to fond of the 12 tacoma blue we had but the speedway blue was awesome looking. on the 16 tacoma they dropped the speedway and replaced it with blazing blue pearl, close but speedway was still a better hue. replaced the 16 tacoma due to cabin space to small for the hunting doges and picked up the 18 blazing blue pearl tundra platinum. really like that color. the 22 blueprint reminds me of the same color/hue of the 12 tacoma we had.

It sounds like he’s just letting them do their thing man. Not following up with Toyota to make sure this truck gets fixed. I’d be making this a bigger deal with Toyota personally

This is in Toyotas hands now. Them not doing much, and the truck sitting in service is just building his lemon law case. His attorney told him to not reach out for these reasons.

Good advice. As soon as 30 days out of service hits, it’s theirs now. Don’t let them rush through it.

Wheel spacers are one thing, but taking away 1/4" of thread length seems a little sketchy to me. I'm not knocking Wescott because I think they offer some great products, but buyer beware on changing the manufacturer designed suspension by bolting on aesthetic altering mods to parts that interface with the road.

Wheel spacers with their own studs: eh, acceptable
Wheel spacers that are just sandwiched between the hub and rim, compromising thread length: no

This one is interesting but I bet the Tundra ride quality would have been better with a WDH. I’m sure they are hitting the bump stops on the washboard sections of the dirt road. Not sure what they meant about linear response of the V8, maybe they prefer the dull tuning that GM uses. I felt the Tundra is very linear when towing and RPM are right in the sweet spot so no boost lag.

So, I have an order for the 1794 in Army Green with the Saddle Tan interior with the I Force Max and the TRD Off Road package. The OR package because I don't want the airbag suspension. My dealer told me it looks like March 1st they will get to start the hybrid orders. They just sent me these pictures of what my truck will look like last night. Pretty pumped. I have a bit of chrome to take care of and I plan on adding bronze wheels and BFG K02s.1794 Angle.jpg 1794 Inside 2.jpg 1794 Side.jpg 1794 Inside.jpg

Comparing standard mirrors to standard mirrors the Tundra is by far and away better. The shrek ear ones on F150's are junk. Yes the towing mirrors are better on the Ford (at least the old Toyota ones, yet to see the new ones) but they aren't standard and are pretty rare on F150's. For the handling it's a personal preference - I HATE the F150 handling, it is way too soft, it just floats around and is not planted. Ram and Toyota are far superior for how I like my vehicles to handle. Dip in the door is annoying, not a deal breaker to me but much prefer the looks and feel of straight door lips. And Ford storage was better before the aluminum update, the door areas are weird shapes and don't fit wallets or tools well at all - again I give Ram and Toyota better storage.

To me Ram is the best truck off the lot, by a bit too, I just can't trust them the same so as a second vehicle sure, but my Tundra is my primary vehicle and the wife gets her Ram with more techy stuff

I can't seem to find it now but someone posted that they fixed their driver side speaker rattle for heavy bass by removing the little piece of fabric in the bottom of the door slit, and holy hell it actually works. I was experiencing this issue too and just chalked it up to a combination of poor door materials and sound system thinking that the rattle was more internal and I had to get over it, but I saw that comment somewhere and gave it a try and sure enough the rattle is gone. What's strange is none of my other speakers had this issue even though the piece of fabric is in all of the doors.

I'll take one this evening but there is a small opening on the inside of all the doors (https://www.toyota.com/tundra/photo-gallery/section/interior/slide/6 where the hand is placed in this image), and at the bottom is just a loose piece of felt like fabric. It's not glued or attached to anything. I just simply took it out and it fixed the bass rattle.

I'd agree. The interior build quality is not class leading for sure. And the wind noise seems to be a pretty common complaint although his is in a different location. Is that spot he pointed out where that missing trim was for the first batches rolling off?

I’m thrilled with the interior build quality of my limited, the outer build quality is pretty pathetic.

These build quality issues are shaking my faith in Toyota. Quality and fit and finish are why I currently own and am hoping to buy a Toyota. First year mechanical and engineering glitches I get, but this stuff seems very much un-Toyota-like. This should have been caught at the factory.

Not having to go to the dealer for warranty work is the absolute best part of owning my 4Runner. I may end up waiting this model year out.

Yeah right. That is nothing more than advertising to look like a good guy. Ford will literally tell you "there's nothing we can do" ask me how I know.

After my F150 I wouldn't buy another new ford unless I really needed a heavy duty truck and went to a 3/4 ton.

Same. The model year 2022 Tundra is a no go zone.

If Toyota doesn’t right the ship by 2023 model year I am regretfully looking elsewhere for a new truck.

I don't know - still waiting to get to look at and drive a new Tundra with a Sport in blueprint on order. Just went and drove a 2022 Ram Sport and it's a pretty damn nice truck. Worse towing, but my trailer is 4600 dry so still fine (and I have a 2013 Ram Sport I'm coming from). The finish and quality of the Ram is pretty sweet, but it's also 10k more.....decisions decisions....
