my brother in law/ sister in law had their 4Runner totaled in an accident a few weeks ago. They needed a family car and I recommended the Telluride/ Palisade and they loved them. Kia- 8 month wait and $10k adm, got lucky with a white top of the line Palisade that someone bailed on, no mention of adm but at the end of signing paid $5k over for it- they had to have a new car though, 1 car family and she is pregnant with their second kid.

Researching and trying to get comfortable with the idea of owning the IForce MAX (hybrid) Tundra.

it is my understanding that electric ingenuity auto engines have been around since the 1900.

But when comparing EV, Hybrid, and ICE durability / longevity, i guess the only evidence we have of a mass produced hybrid is the Toyota Prius which was introduced I think in 2000. What is the durability/reliability record for this? Could we use this as a benchmark for the new IForce MAX (hybrid) Tundra engine?

my limited knowledge of the Prius outside of word of mouth and friends that own them makes me think that it is damn near bullet proof and has very little issues. Batteries eventually go, but they aren’t that expensive to replace

Some might say the same for the Tundra only getting 14 (and some change) mpg while towing a small, light and somewhat aerodynamic trailer. That's some gen 2 miles per gallon right there.

Agreed. I drove one for a while. Great little car capable of racking up extremely high miles. There are taxi Priuses with 600k miles on them out there with no issues. It also happens to remove everything enjoyable about the driving experience, lol. Traded mine in on my wife’s Yukon XL.
Yep. The gen 2 will get less than that under the same conditions, but the real mpg benefit of the gen 3 seems to be cruising unloaded (i.e., not doing truck stuff).

I’ve tried some searches but have been unable to find it- there was a video on the original 2022 thread that was either a press or dealer meeting in Texas from late summer. In the video a toyota exec shared a project timeline for release of upcoming model re-designs, such as Tundra Nov 21, Sequoia In xx, 4 runner in xx, etc. Does anyone that recalls have a link to that video or a graphic of that timeline?
    Thanks!

That is some Gen 2 miles per gallon right there… about what my Gen 2 gets driving around empty at 75-80 MPH.

Yeah, I was trying to be nice! But I'd be willing to bet a tiny 2k trailer on a gen 2 wouldn't reduce the already poor mileage by much at all since you're getting ... what, 17 at best anyway?

I’d take a palisade over the Kia. I like the interior a lot better.

but my friends sells tellurides all day in KC for 56-58k .
