My 4Runner is Red. Salt and Mud don't wear well. Other then this, generally very good with keeping it's appearance between washes. New Tundra is Silver. My other fun ride is silver and its garaged in the winter and no off Road. It does show very well

Trucks are supposed to be dirty. The more mud the better.
Nothing shows mud better than white - but black is close. 8^0

I'm with you on this. Fairly sure I will leave the Tundra Stock. My 4Runner has a Borla Sport and dropped the two lower Cats. On long trips.......can be annoying. The other car has Short Tube Headers into H-Pipe resonator and full Active exhaust. It gets very loud under WOT and Supercharger......but that's why I have it.

Got to see one in person today at my local dealer. Was hid in their back lot. Here’s some pics along side a ‘21 Tacoma. I think $51k is a lot of money for a SR5.

That is a great picture of the two side by side.

It makes you wonder about the styling controversy. The Tacoma's nose looks quite similar to the Tundra.

I think the tundra looks great still. If you look at the front just remember “cooling” and it’s not so bad lol

Is it possible to paint the silver trim around the headlights? I'd love to see one blacked out.

    Yes, and normally I agree.

That said, there are certain observable actions that are intentional enough to no longer require in depth study to determine the intelligence, morals, values etc of the individual(s) responsible.

For example I think we can pretty accurately judge a book by its cover when the author titles it: “The Merits of Man Boy Love” with suggestive photos on the cover. That author is a degenerate monster and needs to be exterminated because he’s advocating for sexual predators.

Squatted trucks are a less odious, but similarly accurate and intentional advertisement of the creator’s intelligence, morals, values, etc.

If we get piped in sound I wonder if we could modify the audio we get to listen to?

I love the sound of the flat 12 Porsche racing engine in the 917. I want that piped in.

Or maybe the brutal sound of a Mercedes-Sauber C11 twin turbo V8?

No it should be a sample of real time engine sound. The trims that have the sound enhancement also have active noise cancellation which acts to cancel out unwanted frequencies and works similarly to how Bose headphones work.

They should just let us choose the sound. Maybe I want the Jetsons car sound one day, then a Harley the next (straight pipe, of course!) and maybe a space shuttle launch, etc.

Back in October I put a deposit down for a 21 Tundra Trail Edition in army green. It was supposed to be here November 1, then got pushed to December 1 and it was just sitting at the port for some reason the whole time. No worries, had a Tacoma and wasn’t in a rush. I just wanted to jump on the high trade value. The local dealer is incredible and kept me informed the whole way, nothing they could do.
Mid-December comes around and they’re like hey, we feel super bad it’s taking way too long. We escalated this issue and no one knows why it’s being held up. You can either wait longer or we’ll switch your deposit to a 22 of your choice.
Might as well right! So I switched it up to a 22 Sport in army green, supposed to show at the end of February according to Toyota.
Guess what showed up today at the dealership? That damn 21. Taunting me.
They asked if I still wanted it but I declined. I’ve waited this long.
There’s no question in this post. My wife couldn’t care less about my constant vehicle escapades. I just had to share the story. Hopefully the 22 will be on time!

You can’t turn it off unless you have TechStream like the dealer does. It comes as a package with the JBL premium audio but it seems Toyota doesn’t advertise it. Toyota has been pairing those features with JBL high end audio in other Toyotas as well.

Interesting. I can say the cabin is very quite and listening to things like podcasts or radio that sometimes require higher volume do to driving noise is a lot easier.

don't know if this has been posted yet, but looks like Carven exhaust put out a vid of their new system for the 22s.
If you're wearing headphones might want to lower the volume.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ng0mCdKKXSE

All I gotta say is big yikes, personally like the stock exhaust better.

It’s stupid to rev the engine until it hits the rev limiter. Looks like the exhaust tips also hit the bumper side panel.

yep they were bouncing off the rev limiter and tips were hitting. no idea why they though that was the thing to show off the exhaust, instead of just a simple start up, a few revs and a drive by. Just kinda skipped around the vid til they showed the truck on the road.

Anything is possible, but do you want to bring a truck you just paid 50k + for to the body shop.
If I was a betting man, I would put my money on a nightshade package for either 23 or 24 my. By then the trucks should be pretty well figured out.

i am sure many of you here are old as dirt (55 or older) and well if your not good for you , you still have an opportunity to fxck things up , but i remember a time a simple time not that long ago when they used to sell something we all thought was magical …………a towel (if you ordered 3 towels you would get 2 more free or something like that) however this wasn’t just a towel it was a miracle towel. You see it could remove spilled tea, pop, pet, wine stains as quick as a whistle, it wouldn’t drip after it picked up a spill , it could wash, dry, and polish many surfaces and it wouldn’t scratch surfaces plus it was washable it was reusable it was basically a semi truck of paper towels that lasted more than 10 years !!!!

This miracle towel was introduced the same time the greatest of all trucks ever produced was rolling off the assembly line the 2007 Toyota Tundra.

The 2022 Tundra is to be the ShamWOW of trucks but the wastegate saga and turbos have me nervous. The world is watching.

Chemical Guys makes a Mammoth towel in all sizes, does a great job of drying vehicles and could also be used on spills. They do have specials and you cant get one for 50% off at times.

I had a 2010 Tundra, the model that they stated the accelerator would stick and the trucks could kill people....mine didn't stick. Put over 145k miles on it and gave it to my nephew for graduation.

I have a 2022 Tundra, but I'm not experiencing the turbo issue, mine seems fine. How many miles do you have on your 22 Tundra that is making you nervous?

The turbo issue is so hyped up now. One Facebook post has everyone worried. I’ve seen plenty of posts from people saying the dealer cleared the code and it never came back.

Only a small number of people seem to have any real problem at all.

I'm not worried about the turbo issue much at all. I'm worried about the other issues I'm seeing around and it's not from one or two loudmouth whiners either. There are some serious un-Toyota like fit and finish issues and even electronic gremlins. It might have something to do with Toyota trying to make up for lost time (800,000 cars worldwide in ONE month, holy crap!).
