When you do a build on their site you can order black lettering, black exhaust tips, etc...so why not a "chrome delete" button? makes no sense not to have that option...
By sticking chrome on everything and offering a delete for a price they'd be making money...

Black always looks the best after you wash it. And then you drive it down the street. Lol! I’ve had a lot of black cars/trucks with mostly garage kept and not daily drivers. Once I had a daily driver black, I’ll never do it again.

The TRD OR trim should have had a matte black grille frame

Ceramic coat and microfiber. Makes a huge difference.

I think the tailgate has to be color matched. Also agree with who ever posted it a while back that the bottom black piece on the grille should be color matched. Lose the chrome and do those 2 things, this truck looks like a completely different beast

Yes, but not at that dealer for the DLX. Daytona Toyota and other out of state dealers have the DLX in their webpage but the truck specs are for a SR5.

It is an SR5. But I believe different regions come out with packages of options. Like the XP. I may be off base here but I think its just an assortment of individual options packaged together under a specific name.

Trim levels on Toyota's website are not going to change based on your dealer's add ons.

I was thinking the exact same thing. Tim is an asshole and Toyota should distant themselves from this ungrateful SOB .

I would say if you have the time, patience, tools and lift. Then home wrench still viable. This my second Mustang and fun car doing all the work that is not on the Roush/Ford Warranty.

Although lengthy, that was a damn good review. On a side note, it drives me Batty that Toyota calibrates their oil pressure gauge on some of their vehicles, including the new Tunny to be normal pressure at or below the quarter mark on the gauge. :annoyed:

I agree. The oil pressure gauge should have at least a "normal" range marker.

I don’t think Tim is an asshole. He’s an automotive journalist who, as far as I can tell, does a pretty decent job of giving an honest opinion about vehicles that he reviews. Criticism is not the end of the world and hopefully results in better products and more informed buyers.

If Toyota were to cut off every reviewer who was critical of their products I would personally see that as a negative for Toyota. That’s the kind of thin skinned shit Electric Jesus and the hippies at Rivian do because they don’t want the public to know their over hyped products are not up to the task of real use.

    Why?

Normal oil pressure in a warmed up engine at idle might be like 20-25psi, and the same engine cold at full throttle might make 80-90+psi. All of which would be “normal” based on oil temp, and how fast the oil pump is operating.

Would you like almost the entire gauge to just read “normal”? Because that’s about what it would be on a 0-100psi oil pressure gauge.

I'll let @Totherion reply to your question personally, but since I instigated it let me suggest that almost every nonnumeric gauge since the beginning of time puts the normal range dash in the middle, where it belongs. ;)

In the case of oil pressure in the middle for "normal" would be inaccurate and meaningless. Again depending on oil temp, and engine RPM normal could be 20psi or 100psi. If you don't care for that then you probably don't need to see an oil pressure gauge because it will just worry you that it isn't in the "normal" position, because normal could be all over the place.

So something I just noticed in a video of a guy doing a wrap on the new 22. Yhe rocker panel is 2 peices, and splits at the doors. Not sure I like that, living in a state that uses lot and lots of salt on the roads. Any ideas why Toyota did this?

Less to replace in some cases? That's why they went to a 3 piece bumper so can see them having the same thinking on other areas that have higher damage possibilities.

I just see it as a place for salt to build up and be a serious rust concern. And the rockers should be welded in place, not like the 3 peice bumper that can be unbolted. Replaced, rebolted

I agree with @Coal Dragger regarding oil pressure. The annoying thing is that there is an oil pressure gauge at all. I would rather have something else like boost pressure or transmission oil temperature.

The problem with oil pressure is it doesn’t really tell you anything. Oil pressure will vary so much based on temperature and engine rpm so how could you ever know what is “normal”? Besides there should be a low oil pressure message that will appear on the center display and that’s really all I’m worried about.

Turbo motor should have an oil pressure gauge and a boost gauge.

Why oil pressure though? Do you know what oil pressure to expect at which rpm and which temperature?
