Safelite is pretty terrible. We have had to do a bit of corrective repair for their gunky installs. They have even cut a a few wire harnesses related to the pre-collision system. They say "take it to the dealer for recalibrations", hah.

    Imma keep it stock
I do this on a regular basis.
"Customer states had windshield replaced by Safelite. Eyesight malfunction light is on. Can't calibrate. Please check and advise."
Those cameras are $900 for the part plus $365 to install and an additional $365 to calibrate :spending:

    Ain't that the truth.

I tell customers that Safelite is the equivalent to having best buy install your audio equipment. It's best to get the experts.

If you're ever hunting in our area, Executive Auto Glass - https://executiveautoglass.com/

They had to replace the 13 month old windshield in our 2020 Highlander, which has all kinds of stuff under it electronicswise. The installer was probably in his late 40s/early 50s, New Englander (Boston maybe?). They were super pleasant to deal with and that one dude knew a LOT about replacing 1GT windows. If I ever decide to give up my factory windshield, they're who I'm calling. Flawless install on the Highlander, everything working, no extra BS required, and they installed OEM/Pilkington glass.

I saved that link. Thanks for sharing it.

I have only used Lightning Auto Glass over in Chamblee but they were bought out by Chips Auto Glass and will probably suffer in quality now.

Just had the front glass replaced in our little sweetie! We knew a replacement was in our future when we bought it. My thought was that our insurance would cover it, but we opted for minimum coverage, and glass is not included….

So, we paid around $250 and we got a Fuyuo because that what they put in. I didn’t know enuff to ask for oem style… Maybe next time…

    Such Fun!
