You will love it there, I have been going for years in stock Tacoma’s , Tahoe’s, tundras and Sierras, drive like you have some sense and you will have no issues. Great place to park and spend the day with family and friends, only place that I find peace in life! Great memories!

If you take some time off the beach, venture to Manteo for some good food and shopping. The Lost Colony is there as well and is a nice quant town that has a different feel from the rest of the OBX. I’m spending some time there working in one of the art galleries.

Grew up in Va Beach and went down there all the time as the family has a beach house there. Drove my 2wd Explorer out there countless times zero issues. I have seen Subaru Outback out there haha. People out there drive on sand all the time so are very good at it and know what areas to avoid. But you in a stock 4wd Tundra should have zero issues at all. Go have fun

Well boys took all your advice and here I am with my lovely girls(yup 3 girls and the wife). Aired down and the truck performed flawlessly. Talked to a beach deputy and he said I've got the best truck to be out here on the beach says these tundras are out here pulling other people out all the time. Thanks for all your help.

Yup, exactly what I’m doing now. Relaxing on the waterfront and catching up on Tundras.com

Was down in Corolla today and, sadly, we did one of the wild horse tours that took us out onto the beach in an open air 4x4 vehicle. It was actually fun but seeing all the Tundras on the beach made me wish I had just driven out onto the beach myself. Next time I am getting a permit and doing just that. But the comment from earlier has me a little worried; the one about not wanting aggressive tires. I have Nitto Ridge Grapplers. How concerned should I be? I saw a fair number of trucks with aggressive tires today but now I'm overthinking things...

I’m 99.999999% sure that 90% of the people out there had ridge grapplers. It is a very popular brand for lifted trucks in va and nc. Don’t over think it you are fine

Air down and you're good. Keep your right foot in check. The guys with the knobby tires that think the sand is mud get stuck.

Headed to Avon last week July. Cant wait to get the Tundra out hoping the Point is opened back up{doubt it}. Otherwise we go to ramp at Frisco Billy Mitchell Airport Rd. Always a great time fishing and relaxing.
