Another noob question. I purchased the Toyota PIDs for OBDFusion and loaded the trans and TC temps on my dashboard.

Do I need to do anything else for settings or just drive with the app on to track my temps? Not wanting to mess up my truck by doing something wrong.

No worries about the Fussion app messing the truck up. Maybe if you used a wrong custom PID but no one here has reported anything. With the purchase enhancements your good to go. Don't leave your phone displaying the gauges for long periods of time so you don't burn the gauge images into your phone.

Is OBDLINK MX+ the way to go if I don’t mind the cost and want to make sure everything will work properly? Features look good on the module and I want to monitor transmission temps, at a minimum, for towing.

Buy the Veepeak. It works great and it's only $33. Dont buy the cheap Veepeak because it won't read K line.

Yes, me and lots of forum members use it to monitor trans temps.

Can anyone assist? I have the Veepeak and OBD app synced.
I paid for the Toyota add on. I cannot find anything that states trans temp. I do have the following options (A/T Oil Temperature 1, 2 and 3).
Is this what monitors the Transmission temp/Torque converter? Any help is appreciated.

Help with TQ Conv lockup settings. 2019 Platinum.

It’s only green when I’m in 6th gear cruising. When giving it gas and you can feel/see the lockup happen on the tach the green goes away. I was wondering if my settings are messed up or is that what others are experiencing?

Here’s my first go at a dashboard for monitoring while towing or in general. Thanks to all in this thread for the help getting this far.

I’m curious if anyone has figured out how to get Distance to Empty to display? My top small gauge is actually meant for that, not whatever it is now. I’d like to have that on this dashboard so I can have the Trailer Brake screen up on the vehicle dash.

Not sure if it’s correct, but I’ve had the same experience with my TC lockup gauge.

Mine goes green when TC is locked then disappears when unlocked. Are you saying yours is working the opposite of this?

Yes. Maybe I’m confused on how the TC locks but it seems backwards on the display. The display only shows green (locked) in 6th gear at cruising speed.

    For example:
6th gear cruising, when you lightly press the gas, RPMs jump up some, gear stays in 6. This is where I thought the TC is “locked”? But, display no longer shows green “locked”.

The display doesn’t seem to want to show green locked in any other gear.

Are my thoughts backwards on this?

Yes your thoughts are backwards, if cruising in 6th gear (TC locked) then push accelerator and TC unlocks, rpm's increase (still in 6th gear) push harder on accelerator tranny downshifts to 5th gear.

Ok then, why does the green locked not indicate in other gears or when in s4?

Mine shows lock up in 5th and 4th. Maybe your just getting into the pedal too much? If its showing lock up in 6th then there should be no reason it doesn't in 5th and 4th. First, second and third gear will not lock the TC.

Found that Fuel Level should work just fine, it just fluctuates quite a bit when accelerating/decelerating/parking on a grade/etc.

Also can confirm TC lockup in 5th.

My TC lockup does work well. Thanks for getting my thoughts straight on it.

Just bought a 2005 sr5 tundra 4x4 and am trying to use Torques pro to read transmission temp, but when I try to set up the PID and enter the parentheses in the equation it gives me a mismatch parentheses error. What do I need to do to fix this?

What PID equation are you using?

I had a Tacoma before the Tundra and had a custom PID that I believe worked in the older Tundra. Check with Tacomaworld website. I know there was a few equations you might want to try.

Did you use a different equation? Share, it may help others that have the older Tundra.

Same equations but this time I put 21d9 instead of a capital D and a * in the unit type instead of the degree sign and no spaces in the equation. I thought I had tried that before, but I can't remember. But it works now.

Just starting to go through the thread but is there a full list of available PIDs for OBD Fusion? I see there is an option to purchase extra diagnostic info in the app. Thanks.
