What up fellas! So I got the trans pan and TC temps working. The custom PIDs in this thread worked for me (thx @buffaluphagus!):

    https://www.tundras.com/threads/obd2-torque.54284/#post-1420003

Does anybody have PID information for the oil pressure?? What about torque converter lock/unlock??

Im using Torque Pro which doesnt have that gear number gauge in the normal PID list. Is that something that you guys get with Fusion or is that a custom PID you set up???

Are there any adapters that are better than the others? What are the benefits of Bluetooth over WiFi? Still trying to figure out which app I should use but then got hung up on what adapter to use and make sure the app works with it

Yes, we were able to get other pids from the Fusion app by purchasing the expansion pids specific to vehicle and year. Check post 23 and 63 for dashboard in fusion some of us are using. If you want the dash pm me and i will send you a dropbox link to download file you would import into fusion or you can build your own, not to tough just takes a little fiddling. I wish we could extract the pid code to try in torque pro too but havent found a way.

@Ruggybuggy had an issue with an adapter and picked up a new one that is working well. I am using an obdlink mx adapter that is 7 years old and uses bluetooth, works fine for me. Not sure about wifi vs bluetooth though, someone else may have better insight to the advantages.

I was using the Elm Bluetooth adapter that would not read all of the data available. I bought the Leepeak OBDCheck adapter off Amazon and it's been working perfect. It has a low profile so I don't bang my leg on it and it was only $32. Other adapters I was looking at were 50-100 bucks.

This is the one I bought. Don't by the cheaper veepeak adaptor for $17 because it may not work.

Lots of good info in this thread thank you, but I'm still having an issue.
I can't get the trans temps to work using the pid's on my OBD Fusion app. I initially copied and pasted the equations in the user-defined pid's with no success so I manually input them and still no luck. I keep getting this message when I hit test, "Result No data was received". I posted a pic of the pid I created. I wonder if it's related to the year of my truck. I say that because I purchased the $9.99 extras for my 2009 and my friend did the same for his 2018 but his has more/different features than mine like engine oil temp, trans temp, etc.
I'm connecting it to my obd2 with BAFX wifi adaptor.
    Does anyone have any ideas?

That's the same PID that I use for my 2020 but I think the older trucks use a different PID. Go to Tacoma world and look up the PID for the older tacomas 2009. I think that should work. Also make sure your vehicle is identifying correctly in the vehicle editor.

Thanks for the tip @Ruggybuggy After a quick search, once I new what to search for I was able to find the correct equations. The first pic/equation is for pan temp and the second is for torque convertor temp. Also the PID Number is D9. This worked for my 2009 Tundra.

HAHAHA those are the ones Craig and I tried several years ago that didnt work. They must have changed them in 2010 or 2011. Craigs is a 2011 and mine is 2013. The ones that worked for me are these:

Do you get the Gear/Lockup PID from the Fusion app by purchasing the expansion pids specific to vehicle and year, or did you have to put those in manually? Someone mentioned that the vehicle/year specific pids add-on was around $10, but the only thing I see on their website is a $80 Toyota Enhanced Diagnostics Add-on. Is the vehicle/year specific pid add-on still available?

The gear/lockup pid is actually two pids. The gear pid is overlapping the lockup pid. Its available through the Toyota enhanced pid that you purchase for $10.

I can’t seem to figure out how to export/import jwags dashboard with the gear/lock up gauge. Can you explain how to overlap those pid’s so I can create that gauge?

I got my gauge setup from @jtwags . Go back on page and read from post #64 on. He will send you a link to his drop box for his guage setup. I have since learned how but it does take some time to get everything looking the way you want it. When you create a display and choose radial type gauge then go to the pids and choose toyota, lexus, scion. Then engine and you should end up here.
    Screenshot_20200315-093519.jpg

Check the one in the pic. That give you the gear status and it is them combined with the torque converter status pid. Basically the gauges are over top each other and by editing the guage you get it to "look right".

I won't get into how to edit and display configurations but it takes some time and you just have to play with it to learn how.

Here's my final setup. Need more guys in here with Torque Pro LOL I'm sure there's a way to do oil pressure and gear and torque converter lock/unlock, but the PIDs haven't been calculated yet.

Need to spend some time making the gauges look better, been using my phone. Trip to Vegas with 37” tires feeding it the beans up a mountain with 85 degree air temp, first pic is the hottest it would go. Second pic, truck loves 6th gear TC locked, everything cools down nice. Last pic is on iPad, trying different pids to see what works and is useful.

I had the torque app pro and never found a way to have the gear indicator and TC lock. There wasn't a pid that torque offered and never saw a custom one. I ended up going with the Fusion app.

What network are are you guys connecting to in the settings of fusion? I'm trying to make jtwags dashboard work, but I'm only getting coolent temp, rpm and battery voltage. I have purchased the enhanced pids for toyota for 2018 and 19

Some adapters won't allow all data through and I'm not familiar with the Carista. When you say "network" what are you referring to? Did you check and make sure that the year of your truck is the same in the vehicle editor?

Yea I checked that. The carista has been a good adapter so far. This is what I'm referring too.

For those using E10 fuel, what's your ethanol % reading? We use E10 here in AZ and my % is consistantly 20%.

So with the extra time, I took a ride up to my hunting camp today with my son to fix a few things that needed fixing and just generally get out of dodge. The longest pull on the way up there gave me the temp readings below - and the trans temp stayed pretty steady around 220 in the hills. Temp at the T/C spiked at 246 but hung in the 230-240 range in the hills. I had my regular enclosed work trailer... guessing 5500-6000 lbs. In the truck was about 750ish lbs of people and supplies (some tools, cases of water, boots, extra clothes, etc... I’m just guessing here) so pretty loaded down. Truck ran perfect. 10.7MPG. No problem with the weight at all. I had it in drive and tow-haul button pushed.
