I was excited to see that NSV has a new version with the single space switch. I ran out to my truck to verify location, and I simply don't have a blank spot where this could go. What am I missing? My truck is a 2020 Platinum. The trailer brake controller is right side of the wheel, but I have no empty knockouts like in this video. Anyone successfully installed into a 2020?

You should look at your console. I had a space next to the USB ports. I also got the panel from HR but decided I liked the ‘original’ look the single, multi-function button provides as opposed to the 3 red button panel.5A856A2D-3966-44BA-938B-4B8D69C6CA26.jpg 4DCDF1DC-D8A2-4200-99E7-3296AD8FB657.jpg

I popped our the toyota security switch and just left it behind the switch panel, make sure to wrap it so it won't rattle behind the dash. I used that opening for the NSV 3 way switch. It's a tight feed from the steering column to this location, but it does go. 2020 Tundra. Also make sure you carefully follow the wire diagram as you will likely need to repin the main harness and the patch harness. I had a local auto shop do the repin before install.NVS tundra switch panel.jpg nsv tundra switch panel with 3 way.jpg

Does this thing actually project light out in front of the truck like a normal LED light bar, or is it just something cool to look at with the Knight Rider look?

no doubt the swipe function, aka knight rider, is cool. It actually does one swipe each time you lock/unlock the truck. but when the whole bar is lit it's SUPER bright, super super. huge difference

That NSV is only 9,000 lumens. For the same price, you can get the BD S8 which is 25,400 lumens. The S8 mounting is quite different though.

It's a light bar but weak output compared to others at the same price point.

Have you found anything that mounts up as clean though? I’d almost be willing to go the NSV route and have decreased output simply because of its factory like fit into that scoop. Every other install I’ve seen has a big gap and looks no where near as clean.

The NSV will only power off of high beams now. They changed the wiring. As far as the gap, you can't see it on mine. I have the screen insert installed.

That’s no problem, I plan to power it off the SP9100.

Does having the screen insert negatively effect the light output?

It does block some but remember that it is over 25,000 lumens so still plenty of light to piss off someone in front of you. I'll try to get some night shots with and without the screen.

Yeah that’d be awesome, thanks. How did you mount it? Is it a nice and clean install with no wind noise?

I can get pics of the install too. The screen covers that huge gap.

Also, what’s your opinion on the Baja Designs S8 vs Rigid Industries SR series vs Heretic Studio?

I have the NSV bar and NSV switch panel; I just purchased the updated single switch that does all three functions, but you mentioned being careful of the wiring...are you suggesting the wiring is different from the "original" wiring on the NSV to the new switch despite having the harness to the new switch or are you suggesting that wiring up the NSV is mildly confusing and one might need to de-pin and re-pin the connectors when "first" wiring everything up?! I am just making sure prior to swapping the switches. I 100% had to re-pin my first attempt and actually get a new harness connector as I f'd them up nicely...regardless, it's been a solid light bar and as some state, only 9k lumens, those are high quality lumens and not a cheap Chinese bar...it is an impressive output and right where it's needed. My wife has a 15k lumen 40" bar on her 4runner and this 9k lumen NSV lightbar has superior light output, range, and focus...

They typically run 25% off on Black Friday. It’s a big savings.

We are having a sale on them right now! Not as big as Black Friday, but we do currently have 10% off most brands storewide. (3/10/22 - 3/31/22)
This includes headlights, tail lights, fog lights, pod lights, LED bulbs, and practically everything else!

Use promo code BRIGHTMARCH at checkout to receive this discount.

On top of that, you can also use promo code BRIGHTWINNER to recieve a free pair of T10 LEDs with any purchase, great replacement for interior lights or license plate applications. On top of that, this code also enters you for a chance to win the 4Banger NCS LED pod lights at the end of March 2022.

We will have another sale around the 4th of July which will have bigger discounts, however I am not sure the amount of that discount as of right now. Typically the two biggest sales of the year are the 4th of July sale and the Black Friday/holiday sales.

They never go on sale but there are better options for light output for the same price. The only advantage of the NSV is plug and play fitment. The NSV wiring has also been changed to where it will only operate when high beams are on.

Yeah that’s the main thing for me. Looks like it’s stock. Don’t know how much brighter I would need.

It does look stock fitment wise. I considered one until they changed the wiring. Also, when they first came out, they weren't compatible with the 2020 due to not having a switch panel available at the time. I ended up getting the BD S8.

The wiring can be modified and one can also swap the 8 and 5 pins to re-gain the strobe light vs the DRL...that's for v2, at least...I love my NSV...works incredibly well and looks good too...there may be a slim benefit in light output but my eyes can only see so much when driving with the lighthouse light I'm throwing ;)

@Tundra234 is right though...it's a lot of money for 50/50 looks to output...but I love it and use it every day!

I believe it has always been this way. They did away with the strobe and changed it to be able to turn off side DRL lights.
