This seems like an unrealistic expectation.

In places where it snows, it snows again. And again. And....again.

Air the tires down is the best for snow. I’m on 37x12.5 and run anywhere from 10-20psi for plowing and dragging our harrow in the snow. I don’t have any lockers or fancy gearing. Just bigger tires. I’ve only been stuck once in snow and I was high centered two ways :)

A guy could always toss some sand bags in the box for weight ballast too.

Most of the time when I’ve gotten stuck (with a lift, along with bigger and more aggressive tires) it’s been because I got in a scenario where anything smaller than a 4WD tractor would’ve had an issue. Don’t blame the truck for conditions being stacked against you. I’ve been able to get through at least a handful of scenarios (mud, snow, etc.) with this setup that I wouldn’t have on stock tires, but that doesn’t mean I can get through everything.

But honestly how often does it snow like this here? Not to mention how wet the snow does get and then it compacts down to Cascade Concrete. I got about the same at my place and had no issue, in fact it was a blast driving around. Fluke?

Most of the time I've learned , the biggest difference is with 4 wheel drive you just get stuck further out , and worst.

If you lift it, is it even going to fit in your garage?

Ford's, chevys, dodges, and Nissans all get stuck in the snow too. If you drop 10k and lift it 12 inches then you're less stable around corners in the snow and won't fit in your garage. If you can't fit in the garage then what has this all been for?

I drive my tundra in the snow all the time I love it.

If you get a 2" lift, it will snow an extra 3" next time.

We get a ton of snow here, Tundras never gotten stuck. I use 4x4 nearly everyday in the middle of winter mostly in my laneway. My driveway is crap even in summer. Christmas I drove 20 or so minutes in 10+ inches of pretty heavy snow mainly in 2wd. Mind you I never stopped until I got onto paved road. My guess is your tires arnt as great as originally thought, snow consistency, or it was a weight displacement thing, as in angle and whether your bed is empty.

I haven’t had any issues with any of my Tundras in the snow. I usually turn off traction control when it gets deep as it’ll bog down with it on.

My snowflake rated Nitto Exo Grapplers (I run them year around with no studs) have no issues driving around our snow covered farm pastures.

We drove our 100% stock 200 series Land Cruiser through the snow that hit Missouri over the past two weeks and it was night and day compared to the Tundra. The Cruiser is unstoppable and surefooted, even with the stock Dunlop’s.

Can’t wait to put the small lift and some good tires on

East Texan reporting here. I have not historically had any experiences in snow/ice. We just dont get much here in tyler.
My set up: 2011 DC 5.7 with 325x60x20r nitto ridge grapplers and 6" procomp II lift has been surprising the mess out of me!

I'm so impressed right now! We have gotten 8" of snow and an inch of ice as the base.
I learned some lessons in mud and trails during past hunting seasons.

That is... The traction control is amazing in ice/snow and I stay in 4 hi, But if you get off into something deep or mud you will HAVE to turn all nannies off to get out. I got stuck in mud several years ago and the nannies were the culprit.

Stay safe out there. Stay 4 hi and speed is everything.
I know I sound like a newb but I just cut my teeth the last few days on good snow/ice.

All in all. Ground clearance and wide tires matched with our amazing vehicle design leave for one heck of a TRUCK!

FYI OP, lift doesn't give you extra ground clearance tires do as you are limited by the height of your diffs. Lift allows you to run bigger tires. Also for every inch of tire you gain 1/2" of extra height. Picture for example.

I have an RV space in my garage and that's where my Tundra sleeps. I could probably get a 12" lift and tires a few inches wider than my mirrors and still fit. :D
I've never really measured the door or the maximum it could open. I have the door opener set to only partially open right now.
Hmm, maybe getting a bobbed Deuce and half is an option? :infantry:

Going back to the original post it sounds like you may have some extra weight in the truck from hauling or storing heavy items? Also don’t know if you have snow rated tires? Seems like the best option is a small lift and a little bigger tires that are rated for snow and then with the weight you were describing it wouldn’t sag down as much and sit on top of the snow and maybe even a air bag for the rear too

No I didn't have anything in the back of the truck. Yes my tires are snow rated and have great reviews. Yeah right! Honestly I wouldn't rate them any better than a regular tire except that they're studded. After personally evaluating them better I'm sure they were the main reason for my getting stuck. :frusty:
Hankook Pike Rw11. No wonder they have Kook in the name. They've served me well on ice though.

My original chain comment has turned into a full thread about chain use! Haha, good. Often overlooked as the single best thing you can do when dealing with deep snow.

I think your tires were a lot to blame. Studded tires suck on everything except for ice. Studless tires do better in most winter conditions as it has a softer compound. I'd go to say in deeper snow though good all terrains and mud terrains will out perform snow tires. But snow tires will more likely serve you well over a typical winter.. Then enter chains, turns any tire into a good snow tire.

After this widespread snow event a lot of people will be more prepared next time, that's good.

I thought they were going to be good tires after reading all the "great ratings" about these Kooks. I actually thought the tread was a little tame for a snow tire. I could barely find a bad rating about them since I often go by the negative reviews to sway my opinion.
Well I do have to deal with ice more often than snow where I live and do most of my driving.

I have a set of Cooper Discoverer M+S studded. I have no idea what the reviews are on them but they are quiet for a studded tire, have nice deep tread blocks, and I have not been stuck yet so... whatever that is worth for you

What about your traction controls? Were they all disabled? I don't have much experience in snow but leave those nannies on while driving into some mud and its instant regret.

We are getting snow now, about 6 inches so far tonight. The goodyears that come on tss package, ya I am not impressed to say the least.

I take it back. In this snow they performed great. I had to blaze a trail to town about 10 miles. No problems at all

The TRUCK does not get you stuck. Your DRIVING gets you stuck. Not keeping momentum, poor gas pedal modulation, etc. People say stuff like "This truck rocks in snow" etc all the time about their particular vehicle, but the truck deserves almost no credit. Its your tires and driving. Sounds like your tires are fine, so....

    P.S. buy a snowblower
