Put the resonator on the 8 inch today. Without it I think the drone would drive me mad. I feel it very much gets the drone back to a stock level of acceptance.

Put mine on today too. Drove around without the resonator for a bit. Im with ya on the drone, though as little as it was. I then put the resonator on a few hours later and it’s so much better. Love how it gets silent at the drop of a hat but comes back as I goose the gas a bit.

its 4 14mm bolts and one 12mm. i didnt even use air tools. worst part was prying off the rubber from the hangers, probably could have sprayed them and made life much easier. my bolts were not seized up either

Yes BUt I made the mistake of taking all bolts off before prying off the hangers half way and then putting the tail pipe clamp back on was kinda a pain. I’m not saying it’s hard but I got a little frustrated

yes, get the hangers started first so the exhaust is held in place. also a floor jack will help hold the tailpipe where you want it when you are tightening the tail pipe to the y-pipe. all else is straight forward

Well, I was planning on installing my 6” this morning but soon realized I don’t have an exhaust clamp! Apparently I never retained the OEM clamp when my TRD exhaust was installed and now I have to wait until Monday when a replacement clamp is delivered. Bummer!

Doh! I’m interested to hear your review once you get it installed versus the TRD. It seems like the overwhelming consensus is people like it better.

Just installed mine without the resonator, took less then 30 mints..had to use right foot to push off rubber hanger near spare tire while holding up old muffler... .also got a neck cramp, but holy shit sounds soooooooo awesome!!!!!

1600 was bad then I bumped to 1700 and it was good.

BTW does anyone know if there is a certain amount of exhaust pipe needed after the resonator. I plan on cutting the exhaust so that there is no side exit.

Drone will be the constant inside the cab. So if you are doing 60 on cruise control on the highway and you get the noise and vibration inside, then that will be drone. Just the constant hum/vibration at a certain speed range. Resonators are designed to remove drone, their only purpose, so id recommend putting it on.

Ended up getting mine on Saturday instead of Monday! All of my bolts were completely rusted and seized up. Ended up have to take an angle grinder to the front 4, the rear one just snapped off lol. After some swearing, a trip to the hardware store, and lots of sparks flying I got it on there. Completely worth it, sounds awesome. Honestly it’s not AS loud as I thought it would be(standard dump), I think it’s just right.

It’s really a surprise, I never received delivery notification... The bad news, it’s F’n cold and rainy. I put the truck in the garage, well only the rear end since I can’t fit my truck in the garage. I set everything up at nd couldn’t break the bolts off. Sprayed with WD and went to get the impact gun and the battery was dead. Resprayed the bolts again and pulled her out. I am impatiently waiting for the battery to charge for my impact gun, went and got some penetrating and release spray for the bolts and try again tomorrow. It’s cold and rainy today, so my surprise was ruined but hey at least I got my BAM with exhaust Tip in. Yup I said Tip!! Took some pics but couldn’t load them off my IPhone.

I've been running my 8" for 2 years without resonator, no drone at all... It's a nice deep tone..
