    WOW!!!!!!!!!
Probably can start to expect that across the board then I guess.
Like I mentioned before the Dobinson stuff was up a few hundred bucks from when I shopped it in January.

One advantage I see with the Dobinsons is that you have multiple spring weight options, for different payload configurations.

Opinion please. Ordered the CBI full skid for both its large amount of protection as well as the CAT protection it offers. It’s weight is 175lbs. The highest falcon setting is called for when adding aftermarket bumpers and the like but although most aftermarket bumpers are in this weight zone they also generally add lights, winch, along with other toys to bring the weight upwards of 250lbs. Also, the weight is multiplied by being a couple of feet in front of the axle. Do you think with the CBI plate being centered with the axle I should just stick with the level setting? Thanks

If you don't have a heavy bumper hanging off the front, or a winch, I would not go any higher than the level setting. The bumper/winch weight is leveraged onto only the front axle due to position, whereas the skids are going to be the same as having a passenger climb into the vehicle. The weight is between both wheels and won't likely be a factor in your nose pitch.

I would call TeraFlex and ask them. They are really good about answering questions on the phone. That said, AzureNightmare is always on top of it and what he says sounds good to me.

I'm quick to respond, but often wrong. I just present what sounds logical in my head. :notsure: That said, Teraflex only specifically calls out heavy accessories like winches or bumpers in their install video.

    Stick with the level setting.
I have full steel skid plates as well no issues on the level setting.

So, a few days ago I scheduled an appointment with a shop to get the Falcons installed on the 19th, and shortly thereafter was able to get a hold of David Ekstrom for a set of the +2 Coachbuilder shackles. My plan is this:
    • Falcons set on level, even though I prefer rake
    • Shackles add 1.25" of rear lift to get some rake back
    • Future bed rack and RTT will likely take away some of that rake
    • Future C4 Fab Hybrid bumper should get the rake back
    • When I tow my RZR (4000 lbs. at most) I shouldn't be nose high at any point
Anyone seeing a major error in my thinking? The bumper is way off in the future, but the RTT and bed rack I am hoping to do before next summer. I want to start taking advantage of my 7 on 7 off work schedule. Even if I just pop over to the lake for a day or two or roll up into the mountains to get away. My truck will be my Escape Vehicle for the times when I just want to get away.

There's a couple other threads I'm copying this post to, just because it's semi relevant to them and I'm lazy. :anonymous: Don't think you're crazy if you read this more than once.

I'll probably stick with what I have until they wear out. They might look a little smallish on a level set up, but I'll live. Budget over form on this one.

I'll be very interested in outcomes and opinions from you on the other side of this. I'm not going to load the truck down like you describe, and only want about half the normal rake back after the shocks get installed; so I'm going with the +1(5/8" lift) CB shackle, but otherwise your same setup. I'll be skipping leg day for at least a few weeks after install - - getting wheels and tires done asynchronously. Cautiously optimistic those Falcons are everything everyone says they are.

Off-topic; and not to hijack the thread - - not sure how many MS geeks are on here, so finding one is fun. I have a Modern Workplace consulting team - working directly adjacent to our Azure consulting team - for a very large Microsoft partner. I'm only a tiny corner of the business, but it's been good.

I'll be skipping leg day until my current tires (275/70R18) wear out. It'll be years. :notsure:

To your off topic, I've had a few people ask about the Azure in my name and reference what I assume is an operating system or software? IDK because the Azure in my name is actually this guy from the Soul Calibur video games. :D

This is how I have mine set up on 33” tires.
I tow very little currently but plan to in the future hopefully.
Mostly on road but lots of crap country roads and gravel road driving as well as moderate off-roading.
And this setup is an absolute treat.
I had Bilstein and Fox prior too with a lot of seat time on the newer Eibach 2.0s. The Bilstein 5100s were complete crap and now completely understood why the Ingalls girls on Little House on The Prairie were always walking along side their horse drawn wagon.

The 6112s and Fox 2.0s were decent but nowhere near as comfy as these Falcons.

@AzureNightmare 275/70/18 or the 275/60/20 33” tires are perfect for these trucks.
I run the 275/60/20 if I ever swap wheels will likely go to an 18 and run 275/70/18s.

Yes - - very encouraging. Thanks for jumping in @Black.

I don't know - - doesn't grinding out configuration of IaaS based CPU/RAM/storage/security groups/networking; PaaS-based database and middleware; external identity; XDR; and SaaS based productivity solutions sound like an exciting way to spend a day?

To add to that 18” tires will look even better as you add 2” of sidewall compared to my 20s.
Then go with an actual aggressive tire with some sidewall lugs and will look even better.

I have Michelin AT2s which are not very aggressive. As much as people gripe about them they actually are a really good tire with good off-road capability for what they are.

I was not sure when I was going to get to do the suspension when I first bought the truck, did not know when I would actually start off-roading, and these were silly cheap on sale.
I’ll be putting the Cooper Discoverer ATPII or Rugged Trek on next time.

I went with Falkens. Their 275/70R18s run a little larger than others. 33.43" according to tire rack or discount tires online info, whereas the Nitto Ridge Grapplers are 33.19" in the same size. This is how they looked the day they went on. Hoping they don't look too tiny after the Falcons and the shackles.

I'll be putting on 20's. I like the look of 17's, 18's, and 20's, so finding the right wheel was tough, and even as I'm spending money on them I'm still not sure. I've had in mind to put 285/65's on them, and I'll push the bumper out with spacers instead of trimming (I like the look of the spats and want to keep them). About 1.5" more circumference and a tad wider than yours currently, but mostly the same look. As long as I can avoid rubbing without having to lift it higher than level, I'll want to fill the wheel wells.

The truck will go hunting with me (hopefully often), which isn't exactly rock crawling, but isn't a highway; but will also carry around my most precious cargo, so the ride on the street will be important. LT tires are probably not an option, but hopefully I'll find metrics that'll get both jobs done well. It already has 18k miles on it, so I've had all that time to wear down the CFO/preciouscargo to the idea of making the change. Glad to have had this forum, because all of that I just said was wholly foreign to me when I bought the truck.

I can't do 20's on a truck. I want more side wall for a cushier ride and so I can air down without breaking a wheel. 18s are the biggest I'll go, and seem to be the sweet spot on the 3rd gen Tundras. The 17s can have the possibility of issues with balancing weights tagging the giant calipers.

Thank you for the compliment on my truck as well. :humble:
