no yours will ship no later than wednesday of next week. I said two weeks from the end date they would all ship and that is what we are shooting for . we have all the subs here and the boxes are build . we juts need to carpet them and i will not cut corners with quality ever . so we are knocking them out as quickly as we can and not sacrificing quality in the process

Hi @james@tech12volts and welcome to the forum. Thanks for putting this together for us. We all appreciate the effort and hard work. There is no doubt that everyone is aware of the quality of your work and that is certainly one reason there were 53 orders placed by members.
I'm sure everyone will be very happy with the product and we all look forward to rocking our new subs. I for one, understand that quality takes time so I have no issue waiting for my order.
Hopefully this will lead to future group buys on some of your other innovative products.
    Thanks again!

I can’t wait!! Thanks again to Sean for coordinating, and James for the quick turnaround!!

One thing I’m anxious to hear is if when you turn up the volume, to get more bass out of our new bad ass sub, is if the bass going to the door speakers will overwhelm them and muddy up. I wish either the Toyota head unit, or even the Phoenix head unit that some of us have, could independently control the output level to either the factory 8” sub or our new 10” sub we’ll be getting. Still might opt to get a separate sub amp with remote bass control. We shall see! Either way, with or without an amp, this is one of the best deals I’ve seen for a box/sub combo!

My hope is that the bass level can be turned way down on the headunit so the door speakers don't push so much bass and sound so crappy. And the new sub will produce more bass even as the lower setting. One member had mentioned installing simple bass blockers on the front door speakers. Not sure that this will help at all with that muddy sound.

I wasn't a member so I didn't get in on the group buy but paid as still very responsible full price for this setup after stumbling on it from Google. I would be interested in getting in on the 6.5 door speakers buy if it become a thing. A set set of bass blockers would cut out 150hz and below at 4 ohms but what is the factory speaker impedance?

I did get my ups shipping notification this afternoon

I think the factory speakers are 2 ohms. So bass blockers would not work? Interesting

They still work but the cut off doubles at 2 ohms, so the cut out would be 300 hz and below. It's hard to find a bass blockers at 150hz at 2 ohms.

Those hertz k170 6.5s are 4 ohms so that fixes the bass blockers issue. But, that would be a significant loss of power from the factory amp. Wouldn't a JBL stadium gto 620 be a better option?

Hey guys, need some wiring for dummies.....

I have never ever wired up a sub. Is it as easy as slicing the factory wires and plugging into the new sub?

If there are any connections needed can someone link them so when I get the sub from James ai am good to go?

I found there is barely any slack on the OEM sub connector wire. So for this one, I just cut the factory sub off close to the connector, stripped the ends and put new spade connectors on. For the other end you'll need to buy a piece of 14 gauge speaker wire (pair), put the matching connectors on one end and plug the other end to the sub.

I used these, which I already had lying around, but any style connector is fine IMO since it's all inside the cab. (this link says they're $19 but no way it was that expensive) https://www.homedepot.com/p/Gardner...-250-in-Tab-Blue-Case-of-10-20-153P/300374156

Yes my bad, I have 19 Platinum and hopefully will be getting my box and sub from James this week.

Just curious what is the best way to hook up the factory wiring to the new sub?

    So yes JBL system.

From my understanding, it’s directly plug and play. Nothing is needed.

Tech12v sub didn’t come with any wiring? Good to know will be needing some extra wiring.

Can’t wait till I get my box!

We'll need another Norcal meet up once you get it installed. It took a lot of self control for me not to jump on this group buy.

Haha I tried to have control but for $180 an increase in bass response, it’s a great deal I couldn’t resist lol. Cruise by anytime you in the area. I’m sure I’ll install it once I get it. Curious to see myself the difference with this box.

Maybe james@tech12volts could do a quick YouTube video for the install, or if possible make up a plug and play adapter for a small fee.
