    anyone interested in also upgrading their front door soeakers to something that will improve the sound without having to add an amp?
    These JBL systems aren't very good as we all know. James has come up with this sub and box to vastly improve our bass and sound after years of trying different ideas.
    I spoke briefly with him about ideas for front door speaker upgrades, and did not expect much. He said he has had great luck with Hertz K170 components. They are 6.75" and have a separate tweeter, there is a crossover built into the wiring which is kinda cool. He also has adapter plates for them for our trucks. Price is very reasonable at $139 for the set, wires and fit kit. He says they are a very easy installation as well. I dont think that I can swing this right now but just wanted to throw this out there for you guys who may wanna upgrade something we previously have been told is not easily achieved with these JBL systems and have the cash to do so. This will likely be a future mod for myself.

    I trust that these will improve sound. I don't think he would push a product that won't perform well. In speaking with him in the past. He is a straight shooter a and has never suggested buying stuff unless its truly worth the coin.

    He designed the box and chose this sub to work specifically with the OEM JBL amp. However, it will also work if you ever decide to add an amp or change headunits. It's the best bass you can get for our JBL systems but is able to handle additional power if you ever wanted to add a small amp down the road. Same goes for the door speakers he suggested

    I would definitely be interested in going this route.. I've heard nothing but good things about Hertz speakers. I am hesitant to just do the front door speakers though. I'd prefer to do both front and back at the least. Not sure if he has a kit for that though?

    I think it's the same for front and back doors. I'd double check with him though. My back speakers are so awful, one or torn so i have it faded almost all the way up front.
