They do not want to copy Toyota! LOL and if they did, it would be SOOOO COOL to have a roll up rear window.

Same reason people buy new phones every year! It's still a phone with a new button!

Now we know that Toyota can come up with some awesome tech as well.. they just don't want every vehicle to be an iPhone on wheels. Just look at their Lexus line up.

I’ll admit all that fancy shit is nice, but it’s more fancy shit that can fail too. I bought the Tundra simply due to the lack of fancy shit...

Some of those features are really neat. Of course, I suspect many of them will break within a few years.

I am curious to see if the rumors of a hybrid Tundra are true. I'd certainly more faith in a Toyota Hybrid over Ford. I do admit, that 700 mile range would be nice.

Am i the only one that wants my truck to just be a 4WD truck ?
I am not buying a computer to sit in and autopilot me from one place to another, i want to offroad and haul shit and then hit the beach and sit in the bed to watch sunsets next to bonfires.
Why does a full size truck need to be a cozy little wifi connected tiny home ?
    ...Sigh...

I just bought a new tundra & the salesman told me the hybrid is coming on the next generation. He told me that in case I wanted to wait. I told him no, I just want a no frills dependable truck. He did say starting price will be about 60K.

Good know they suck with the plastic oil pans, then.

Which would make it $15k more than my Platinum. That's a lot of gas. The F150 is nice but, damn.

your platinum (and my 1794) are currently closer to a Lariat or lower end King Ranch in terms of features, despite the similar naming

Those are some pretty cool features.
Granted I don't need any of them, but still cool.

noticed how they all show only the LIMITED.
IMO, No matter what comes in a Tundra (cool, new or not), it is still seen as a foreign Truck (yes despite it being built in Texas and has more US Mfg parts in it), I doubt people will flock to buy it.

Looks amazing. Love the new features too, they got very creative. There's a reason they sell so well. I still prefer my dinosaur of a truck though. Itll be nice to see some of these features maybe trickle down to Toyotas in a few years time once they work out the kinks :)

I completely understand what you’re saying but you can still do all that in the new truck and you can be completely comfortable driving the family somewhere with all the bells and whistles too . ( just playing devils advocate )

Truly a shame they did away with the castano leather. Knock Ford all you want but they got that interior piece right for a short period of time

Ford decides on a fold down armrest for a table which I do like but why would they go to all the trouble to make the shifter fold down? Why not just move the shifter to the column or use a dial on the dash? Being a Ford you know that shifter will decide one day to not come back up.

True. And still thousands less than those trims. Which is the biggest reason I bought it, lol.

I'm sure the lawyers will find some way to make sure they don't or at least that they don't sue Ford if they do.

I can see why both Ram and GM show no signs of dumping their V8 anytime in the foreseeable future. They want to have all the costumers they can have and dropping the V8 will mean losing the V8 crowd. Even though the 5.0L in the F150 isn't my preferred V8 in a truck compared to the 6.2 GM, Hemi Ram and Toyota's 5.7 I think it is a good move on their part for not dropping it.

They'd lose some customers for sure. I keep hearing the rumors of Toyota going that route, but I hope they at least have multiple engine options if they do. I for one wont own another turbo charged vehicle that I at least plan to keep long term. For me its just not worth it, it seems any gas savings along the way is pretty much mitigated once you have to replace the turbo. With Tundras easily logging 300k+ it would be something that would be required at some point. If you dont do it yourself its easily a $4k+ maintenance for a new turbo.

There's always a need for V8. Heck, I don't know their numbers but I'm sure at least some of their sales numbers come from the v8 to make their 1 million truck sales each year. LOL

1 million? wow still.. I see a lot of Tundras in my area for only selling 100k / year. My eyes need not be looking at Fords.
