Well went out this morning and saw lots of does. Wrong species. All were mulies. I can only take a whitetail. Came home for lunch and mowed my yard one last time. Will have to rake any leaves that continue to fall. Trees are close to bare so shouldn't be too much.

 

That’s a bummer. When does your season end?

 

Dang dude! Haven't mowed up north here for 3-4 weeks and the grass hasn't budged a bit, lol.
We decided to go out to lunch today for some good Thai food before more restrictions are announced soon.

 

We have one more mow to go, but I told junior to hold off another week. He can mow next weekend while I smoke some turkeys and then we’ll winterize the mower.

@NWPirate I feel ya...I’ve got an urge to go buy a cart full of meat for the freezer. Just to get ahead of the chaos.

 

I’m able to pick up most of the leaves with the mower. Then we dump em in a spot to compost. Only thing is, you can’t do it unless it’s dry, lol.
2” of rain yesterday and probably another 1/2” today. Great for the trees that I just planted; 6 coastal redwoods, 6 western red cedar, 6 Doug fur, 5 hemlocks, 3 ash and 2 walnuts. Also prepared 9 holes for an orchard expansion, bareroot to go in the ground around March: 3 apple, 3 pear, and 3 cherries.

Monday for me. Season ends 19th

Finally stopped raining long enough to do my final clean up.

 

My garage freezer is pretty full with venison, elk, beef and pork but it's like guns and ammo, can't get enough!

I’ve been wanting a nice grill to use while camping. Found some stuff on Amazon but was pondering getting rid of my old Coleman stove and upgrading to a bigger kit. Whelp, found something at Costco this past week for $17 that fits the Coleman, so gonna cook breakfast for dinner tonight.

It is raining and low 40’s, so I made myself a warm beverage...

 

Drove out to Yacolt in the rain today to pick up some Pull Caff’e coffee - wood roasted beans done by a friend of my wife’s.

getting ready to grill some chicken but trying to decide what else to cook for dinner. don’t know if the kids will decide to eat at home or not... pretty much the story every day anymore.

 

Edit: New griddle. got a pretty good view right now

 

Just poured a whiskey 7 and lit a fire in the wood stove.
2-5" of snow expected tonight.

 

Side note, where might a fella find the retro grill colors you have?
I want to get the gray set and I can't remember where I've seen them.

It’s just an average decal. Nothing special, but it has held up to six months of washing. There is someone here running metal versions. They look pretty cool. Will try to find a link later

We are just chilling in the garage and drinking as fast as we can. Guess it was time for a stress relief. Oh yeah, and she’s helping with truck mods...

Figures, just when we’re getting ready to butcher pigs and turkeys, one of my deep freezers died.
Apparently, freezers are the new toilet paper! lol

 

Yeah, been that way for a while now. Sort of like trying to find canning lids and primers right now.

 

That’s no joke! We could not find canning lids for weeks!
