Whelp, the kids are officially home for two weeks. I was about to go back to work b/c my wife has been making it apparently my presence is not needed. Now she's telling me I can't go to the office. We spent two weeks in our tiny trailer last summer and had a blast...not sure how we'll survive two weeks at home.

You guys all staying healthy? My cough hasn't gotten any better, so I went to the doc today. Just a bad case of seasonal allergies apparently. His eyes said "Dude, I don't have time for this crap"... was kind of funny

2 weeks? Snohomish SD is closed up to 4/24 and some other SDs are mid Apr. Its going to rough for a lot of families that have both parents working or single parent homes. Not sure what how they're going to find child care. I haven't heard but i assume child care centers will probably also get affected. Going to a rough few months ahead.

Yeah, this is going to be very disruptive. I’m also worried about all the small independent stores. Will be interesting how things shake out.

I am glad the population isn't bad over here. I can avoid people other than work. Hope this passes quickly. Stay safe everyone.

Our schools are teetering on the brink of closures. They have sent home distant learning plans and canceled field trips and concerts.
Most of these students end up at malls, children museum's, friends homes, and any other public place anyway. One of the teachers just told us they got super cheap flights to Hawaii for spring break and they're taking the family on a whim. It seems like the spread will continue unless people actually quarantine themselves.

Meanwhile, my wife and I go to work everyday in a building with confirmed cases.

:eek2:. I have been avoiding the news with this stuff and due to not having cable am kinda out of the loop. That is crazy! What are they doing about the make up time? I get emails like every other day from our school district about it and how they are staying open. Good luck to all those families that have to deal with trying to figure out what to do for child care. Im sure the price gouging on that is going to be even more extreme then normal.

Thats kinda what I was guessing. I mean how do you make up weeks of school with only like two months left anyway.

Oddly enough just got another email from the school district. Looks like still open just anything outside of class is canceled till this magical date of April 8th. Remember I don't have cable so there may be something to this date I don't know of yet.

Well, talk about chaos. The governor just decreed that all K12 public and private schools across Pierce, King and Snohomish county must close by March 17th to Apr 24th. From what i heard, many schools are going towards an online class format so that its not a vacation for kids and they don't have the issue of having to make up so much time. Not sure if all schools are set up for that yet.

My wife went out to get some perishables and said she could not find any parking at Winco. I think the latest news about schools just triggered a new round of panic buying.

    Same with my wife.
I work in public transportation and today is my Monday. I am sure there will be new emails from the last couple days if not from today that I will learn about when I go in tonight.

Well, three counties are now under orders to keep K-12 schools closed until 4/24. Sounds like the kids won't be forced to make up all the time either. It is me, or does it feel like our elected officials are playing spin the bottle for what decision they'll make today? Sheesh...

    Six weeks...wow, that's a lot of togetherness.

This stuff is getting a little out of hand already. Hopefully everyone keeps it together. There has been talks of working from home for me but not sure if my department will allow it. I heard our local Costco is packed. Today people were waiting an hour in line just to checkout.

Times like this I wish I lived in a small town like Walla Walla. There are millions more bugger-eaters over here.

We did some grocery shopping tonight to restock on a few things. Plus we're shopping for my M-in-L so she doesn't have to go out. Trader Joe's in Redmond was out of tuna fish completely and had two 6-roll packages of TP left. Kirkland Costco still doesn't have TP or paper towels. Apparently there's been a run on whole chickens too; none were to be had. Every register was open and people were 3-4 deep per register. No one is panicking, but the cashier was telling me people are leaving their items in the cart and expecting the staff to scan them w/o touching anything. WTF? The guy boxing stuff said he saw someone spraying disinfectant all over some coolers he bought as he walked out the door. I told them they should look those freaks dead in the eye and say "We go lick random packages and boxes after hours....". They liked that idea.

But a sure sign the apocalypse is near, my favorite bagel joint was out of pretzel bagels today. Tons of other stuff, but who cares. I think it was Gandhi that said "no prezel, no peace".

I have lots of comments about POTUS...But don't want to get banned.

Haven’t seen the official statement but word around the shop is all Oregon schools closed starting Monday. So looks like 1 week off followed by spring break if my dates are correct. But I work graveyard and normally don’t even know what day it is lol.

    Holy smokes that escalated quickly.
Looks like WA closed school for the next 6 weeks statewide. I'm going have to stock up on beer if I have to spend the entire time stuck inside with the kids off school.

Yeah, six weeks is epic. I'd like to know how many people are working from home these days. There is minimal traffic around here during the evening commute. 5pm feels like a 9am Sunday morning.

Had to pick up supplies. Turns out the side pocket in the back of the 4runners was built for a reason.

Crazy you guys had snow. We've gotten it here on March 7th before (two years in a row), but never much later. And never that much accumulation this late in the year. It was supposed to be dry here in the Seattle area, but it drizzled all day.

I had booked this weekend to dewinterize our trailer, but that's on hold with another week of below-freezing nights in the forecast. With all the craziness going on, it would be nice to spend a weekend at quiet park somewhere....

Instead I did a full detail on the truck. Plastic, leather, windows, vacuum and a wash. No waxing due to the temps, but that will come soon enough.

Man, you guys are quiet around here. Or I'm bored... I bet more the latter than the former.

My work just mandated working remote. Up until now it's been "strongly encouraged", but no longer. Need to go into the office tonight to grab my ergo mouse and keyboard. Think I might make it a nice long trip and swing out to Issaquah for some non-E gas...

Need you OR peeps to stop calling 911 when you run out of TP. It's making the news up here in Seattle. Buddy told me Costco has posted "Social Distancing" signs at their stores. Dude, it's Costco...it's a zoo even with light crowds. Still no TP and they're limiting eggs and milk. He also told me gun and ammo sales are up. Guess everyone's worried the gov'mt is coming for your TP supplies?

    Stay healthy everyone...

    just finished unloading my truck.
yes there are social distancing signs along with what items are out of stock. Pretty sure TP is at the top. Limits on eggs, milk I can’t remember what else. Absolutely no packages of chicken. People waiting in line for roasted chickens.

Now there is this stupid fake text message going around and more people are panicking. Just what we need. Got a little extra meat just in case. And some bread. Good luck everyone.
