Happy Thursday everyone! Sure is quiet around here. Need to light a fire, get a drink and start the conversation.

Anyone have plans for the weekend? We are headed up to Birch Bay tomorrow night after the traffic dies down.

 

No plans. Probably some yard work around my place and get the mower out to service. Yard doesnt need mowed yet, but no harm in getting the mower ready to go. Also be working at dads place a bit i am sure. Gets the puppies together to burn some energy.

Sunday is first day of softball practices. Season starts in two months. We practice once a week to get the motions going again prior to start of season. Should be an interesting year. Lots of new faces on the team.

 

Off to Phoenix for sun, spring training and visit out daughter.

 

Warm weather sounds good. We were at Disneyland a few weeks ago and the sun felt great. This time of year kind of sucks since the cold is mostly gone but Spring isn’t here yet.

 

Close to 60 and sunny here. Cant complain, last year we had snow until mid march.

 

I love me some Walla Walla. Used to go 2-3 times a year for wine but it’s been a few years since out last trip. Sounds like a good time to bring just the wife for the weekend!

 

Its a nice little town. Looking to get out of city limits though. Starting to get a little crowded for me.

 

Been a crazy busy week. This Friday will be 100 hours worked in the last ten days. Getting off at 6:30 am on Saturday then heading to monster trucks with the kids at like 9am. But after that I am off for four days. Trying to figure out what I’m going to throw on the Traeger now that I finally got that damn WiFi connected. Might just grab a brisket.

 

Them be crazy hours...dang.

Best brisket prices I've found around here are at Costco. They stock Prime cut for only $0.20-0.30 more per pound than junk grades at Cash N Carry (or whatever they're named these days). I've been having a hankering for smoking, but cannot find the time lately. Such a bummer...

 

Grilled some tasty burgers tonight and hit the links today with my pops. Mid 60’s felt like summer.

 

Yup that’s where I get my briskets. Going to order a SRF one here in the next month or so when we have friends in town. Our Traeger dealer just had a 20% off sale yesterday for a couple hours. Unfortunately I couldn’t go because I don’t have a second freezer.

I just had my like 6 month old Timberline 1300 replaced under warranty. The one they sent wouldn’t connect to WiFi so I couldn’t use it for like 5 days out of the week for the last month. Just got it to connect today. So now I can smoke stuff while I sleep if I want.

 

I got a SRF brisket a few years ago from a local butcher. It was amazing. Need to order one soon as well. Think I’m smoking one for Easter.

Truck said 37 degrees too this morning. I’ve gotta do a full 8 today unfortunately.

So you found a place? That was fast..

 

Not a done deal yet but looks like the sale will go through. We saw this home in July while visiting a friend. It's his elderly neighbor's place. He said he was ready to sell then changed his mind during the nice summer but the winter has taken it's toll on him and he's no longer able to live there without assistance. He called recently and said he's ready to sell.

 

Well headed west tomorrow. Way west will be landing in Honolulu about 1600. Will be there for a minium of 8 months. We will get the job done, but I need to enjoy this experience for more than just work. One of my down falls is work first me second. We work so many hours I call it being institutionalized.

Can't wait to get out of the norm.

One thing though when I get back I am going to at least level out my truck and I will need tires by then. My wife will finish off the last few thousand miles left on the original tires. Would like to get with some of you fellow enthusiasts and start doing some off roading/ overlanding. There are some pretty good trails were I live and probably better ones that I am unaware of.

Tired of watching videos on all the other states from east to west need to start something local.

 

Everyone staying healthy? I'm danger close to all the crap in the news which is making things interesting. Guess the lines are crazy at the all the local Costcos and TP is sold out.

 

What a monday. Hospital has been placed on restricted access. Coronavirus patient. Interesting to say the least.

 

What's that mean for you? No entry or no exit?

 

Means i can come and go because of work. We are expected to stay where we need to be and no where else basically. Patients can come and go if they have emergency, imaging, or surgery scheduled. No family or guest allowed. If they can't be checked in, they are asked to leave.

 

I head to Korea tomorrow. Between rockets and Covid19, I think I'll up my life insurance

I was asked to head to Europe next. Might be my only opportunity for a trip this year, but I quickly passed.
