Went out in the desert and got diy landscaping rocks. Think I killed my Harbor trailer and my back.

Nice...we are just chilling as a family. Finger foods and chicken strips. And a beer or two. So much for being on the wagon in 2020

I was like "WTF is wrong with you?!" until you mentioned family. That's the hard part. I can travel often for work and I'm a wreck after being gone for a week. Still, at least the location is going to be amazing. And get you out of here for the remainder of the winter. Good luck with the trip! Send us pics...

So I am in the business of ship repair. We are opening a new yard there. We have to barge everything over. Nd the resources of our yard won’t be there it is going to be very stressful.

Back in 2008 my wife and I were on our way back home from a family reunion in Kansas, we had stopped over night at a rest stop on a pass in Colorado when a woman pulled in with a van towing a Harbor Freight trailer, she told me that she needed a new axle bearing but when I looked at it the axle was totally burnt black and blue, I told her just to load everything in the van and leave the trailer and warned her that the small tires on the trailer cause too high of rpm's to hold up well. Anyway she did what I told her to do. I've seen this problem many times, a lot of boat trailers often have too small of tires, I figure it's always going to create a problem somewhere down the line. In the long run, it's worth the extra cost to have a quality trailer.

Totally agree. This is the yard waste trailer and does not leave town. Most trips are 2 miles away to Home Depot or the dump. Luckily I have access to bigger trailers if needed.

You can barge your vehicle over ther for 1500 each way would be convenient but may look into buying a hooptie then sell it when I leave

Yeah...sure seems like it would be cheaper to ship over someone's personal vehicle and pay for their gas. A $3k shipping bill is $12.50 a day for 8 months. I bet the daily taxes on the cheapest car rental in Hawaii are that much....

    Happy Friday everyone.

Is anyone getting hit with all this flooding? They're talking about Carnation possibly being an island pretty soon and the news is going crazy with flooded rivers. Still trying to figure out why my kids started school two hours late. Apparently rivers only overflow at night? More stupid logic from the locals.

Got tarps up on my roof, hoping those hold up with the winds to night. At some point in the next week or two I'll be cutting a roofer a check for about as much as I could possibly ever spend at 4Wheel Parts.

We got flooding around here too. Nothing major so far. Rural areas. On town the main route to is closed. A 30 minute drive to get there is now 90+ to get there.

They will provide a work van to take the crew back and forth and we can use it to do other things but if you don’t do it in a group setting then you could be screwed

That's pretty lame...easy for a week or two, but not 8 months. Guess whatever you do is probably a tax write-off. Good luck whatever path you take!
