I was up in Portland a few years back when I went to go watch the solar eclipse but didn’t spend enough time there. Where’s a good taco place and bar?

Define “bar” - what you looking to drink?
If you want to experience “local” then I’d say find a McMenamins (or several) and explore… Edgefield (east side - Troutdale), Kennedy School, Cornelius Roadhouse (west side - Hillsboro) are a few. McM’s also has their own distillery and wines so lots of choices.

Unfortunately, I’m not in town enough to really know good hole in the wall taco places (I live about 35 miles from downtown Portland up in the hills in WA). Food trucks are abundant in Portland, and lots are very good, but I can’t give any specific recommendations.

    Sorry - I’m a shitty tour guide.

Bar? Come on you should know by now - as long as it’s got alcohol I’m good :p

I would whole heartedly suggest a couple of the McMenamins locations to anyone staying in town. Depends on where you are staying - find one close. Kennedy School you can have whiskey and cigars in the old detention room, go down into the boiler room bar for gin and tonics, then grab a pizza and a pitcher of beer and catch a movie in the gymnasium… just watch out for hipsters. :D

On the Vancouver (WA) side of the river, Little Conejo is pretty good for tacos - I’ve been there a few times for lunch.

several hole in the wall bars right around the corner from there too. My daughter hangs out at Six Shooter sometimes.

Went to Lake Scanewa for a day of fishing with the kids. Last time we got 20+ trout. Nothing this time :(. Anyone know a good spot in the PNW for a day trip for fishing? Lake or river. I’d like to take them for one last fishing trip before school starts.

Also, we saw this massive elk outside the brewery.

I put 300k on my previous 5.7L without any problems.
I’m not saying the guys that go hard (or are SC’d) couldn’t derive some real world benefit from them. But I’m not convinced the factory spec are “shitty design” and I’ve got a pretty long list of other unnecessary $400+ expenses I want to put on this truck before I start looking at new motor mounts…

(and when I do get to that spot on the list, these are the top contender)

I bought in to a set thinking my factory ones were toast after 10 years of hauling and towing. Nope. They were right and tight when I pulled them out. Ending up putting them back in the next day. Less NVH than the aftermarket ones.

If you're still headed up let me know where in Portland you'll be. I'm a fan of hole in the wall taco joints and dive bars, and work up there regularly.

That’s fair. But for me I want better throttle response and less twisting and bouncing around of the drivetrain. Peace of mind is also a plus.

Edit: I’ve also read that some had torn their factory mounts under 40k miles so it could happen. Is it often, no, but it can happen.

Also, I like spending money on truck stuff

You’re also getting SC’d right (or already did)?
Yeah - pushing some things well beyond factory spec leads to other things naturally needing upgrades as well.

No SC but it’s on the list. Can’t decide between that or 5.29 gears.

Hey, does anyone have a recommendation for a good automotive shop in the Bonney Lake/Puyallup/Sumner/Auburn area?

Just found a leak on my Evap/Dryer for my AC system on my Tacoma.

I had a good one on south hill (Bailey's Automotive) but i just went to call them and they shut down.
