My Alaska card is my household bills CC so the “double gas” stuff doesn’t apply. And I don’t bank with BofA so it sucks all round. Not the best…but I get to put a lot of my travel on that account so it works out.

I know a lot of people that run this card. The annual fees are steep, but if you travel a lot they easily pay for themselves.

We've got the Alaska CC (they only have one) as our main CC (we only have/keep one). As others have said, the rewards aren't amazing, and really if you don't travel a lot with Alaska they are probably marginal. We don't bank with BofA (except my HSA account that I don't have a choice on where it goes), and we never carry a balance on the card. I travel a lot for work and get to earn miles while also getting the perks of free checked bags, higher mileage earning, etc. by using my Alaska card for it. And even with the annual fee, it still works out to pay roughly $200 for a second person to fly with you on a trip, so we usually capitalize on that for spring break (when flights are stupidly expensive anyway) or longer trips like going to Hawaii.

We've talked about getting something else, but also hate the process of migrating over to a new card or a new bank and have managed to get decent use and utility out of it.

my wife and I both have one and we use as our main cards. Gets us to Maui every year with 1 reg price ticket, one companion ticket and one paid for with mileage. Last year we flew three of us for like $600. Worth it for us to
    Keep the cards.

Not a bad deal at all! Anything to get you to Hawaii more is a good thing.

I don’t have sliders yet, always wondered how much they’d help prevent door dings.

All about the design. Some tuck up pretty close to the body. Others stick out.

These are the step sliders from Cali raised. They stick out passed the doors and the main reason I went with them.

Yeah, I'm split between two different models and I'm leaning towards the ones that stick out a bit more for just that reason. They'll be used more as door bump stops than sliders for sure

My cheapo Amazon steps have saved me a few door dings that I know of.
Waiting for these to shit the bed so I can get some quality slider/steps.

Yeah, I had a similar set up previously. The paint started peeling so I yanked them off. 99% sure I'm going with CBI's design as I like the step (need that for kids and old people) and the right amount of poke to protect against doors...Just waiting for a sale.

Cool, I'll have to check them out.

My cheap running boards are powder coated aluminum and have held up surprisingly great, 3+ years now.

That's what mine were as well. I wanted the AL to hold back the rust, but they started peeling. I also damaged them on the trails at one point (not where the peeling started) so pulled them off. Glad I did as the bolts/nuts were starting to rust-up.

The CBI install looks easy except for one bolt on either side. I'm probably going to road-trip to ID have them install the sliders for me. Their shop rate is reasonable and I'll get some windshield time out of it...

I should probably check my brackets/bolts for rust, now that you mention it.

That sounds like a good trip, where is their shop at?

I prefer a slider that kicks out a little at the back - help deflect at the rear tire. The CBI ones don’t do that.
I’m strongly looking at the white knuckle ones myself.

If I had the details for the mount, I might try fabbing my own…

Having seen the Cali Raised fab shop, they are a solid choice too.

On my DC, the "hard" bolt on the pass side was easy. The driver side was absolutely evil. I dropped my RCI fuel tank skid and it helped a tiny bit. Have a kid with small hands help.

I have the CaliRaised step sliders with the filler plate. Very happy with them.

Never did get the last bolt by the gas tank on but I have it in a box of other parts so next time I have time to spend under the truck I might give it a go again.

Don’t Fucking Start… I love their hidden bumper setup, but their price is nuts. But if you are getting a new front bumper…oof. and I already told you how I feel about their rear bumper.

Oh, and there’s a P&S dealer just outside of Boise that stocks the 2000.

I told the wife I plan on a roadtrip to see them at some point and she said “Oh, Ill come too”. She’s smart…sees the look in my eyes. I need a chaperone

Yellowstone is just a short drive from I-Falls.

I’m happy right now with the SSO Hybrid. At some point I may trip on a pile of money and decide to get their front bumper, but don’t need it right now.

For people going to the dealer what are you guys paying for oil changes now? Just did my first paid one for this truck and now they are 160$ with tax in my area, seems insane to me. (Regular 10k service).
